  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

The South of France.

Hopefully the place didn't get too dirty or dilapidated while you were away.

Does the property extend all the way to the water? Also, do you have to clean the pool or is there a hot stud pool boy to do it?

It's a gorgeous place - and it's for sale - a new JUB playground?!!!

Yes, all the way down to the sea. Thankfully I don't have to do the pool, but unfortunately no hot pool boy.

It is a beautiful property.

You must not have done your hiring duties properly if you don't have a hot pool boy!

:p

The centre of Nice is really being well renovated with squares and gardens being created.

A particularly ugly architectural eyesore has just been knocked down and replaced by a garden. So the town is now doted with a central linear park which is extremely pleasant for an afternoon stroll. You will see from the photographs that it is extremely popular with the Nicois.

This is where I shall be drinking my morning coffee when I retire.

Then I shall be able to stroll into the centre of town through the gardens which start here.

I know I should be packing.

Here are three views I couldn't take.

Aerial view of Eze Village.

Aerial view of La Turbie.

And just a little extra; an aerial view of the villa where I live and work.

We'd love to visit!

Thank you for these pictures. I'm sure I've missed the explanation in your posts, but who is Madame? And speaking of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, have you visited the Villa Kerylos? I've never been, but it looks extraordinarily beautiful.

The weather at the moment is just spectacular with clear blue skies and little to no wind.

So lunch at St Jean and then a leisurely stroll up to the hospice.

Thanks david...your link just above can be best viewed in any browser except internet explorer.

Lovely pics - and oh so inviting - Old Man Winter is finally making a frigid appearance along the I-90 Corridor from Buffalo to Boston.

We'd missed most of the super cold and snow up til now.

Apricale is not really the South of France as it is an hour's drive over the Italian border. But we went here for lunch last week and the valley and village are really quite spectacular.

As usual the other photographs are on flickr.

I just google mapped the distance between you and Geloge - only 1,536km by car, along the coast.
What a trip that would be - maybe you could meet in Barcelona and sample the local cuisine, lol.

Is that all I am allowed to sample? 1,536km for a restaurant meal, you must be joking. But I would do it for an over night stay in his bed. ;)

Geloge,
You're a lot further apart than I originally thought - I didn't realize how far Southwest Granada was in Spain, and I thought Nice was further West.

My "only" comment was just me being a bit facetious.
A little shy of 1000 miles is quite a trip - my relatives in Indiana are around 480 miles, so it's there and back again - so I do have some idea of the distance. As to the roads and speed limits, that's another issue altogether.

David,
The full menu on offer would be between the two of you, lol.

Well finally I managed to get my stroll along the Promenade des Anglais before the clouds swept in and it started to rain.

I think Geloge meant that we live in a nation that is vast but connected by interstate highways that make us minimize the mental distances between corners of our country. Europe has arteries connecting areas, but not as easily as our interstates.

Is that close, Geloge?

Yes, but not only. There are 50 states in USA, 10 provinces in Canada and 31 estados in Mexico. Any of this countries is really huge by european standards but still there is an idea of unity that you can't find in Europe. Even with EU we considere ourself absolutely different. Here in Spain we still use Europe or european almost as synonym of foreigner. We are not used to the long travels that are pretty common in America either. I'm not saying that USA, Canada, or Mexico considere themselfs as an unity, I suppose they don't, but inside each of these countries people have a common identity (that's what I perceive from my limited knowledge)
