good thing we (by we I mean Amazon, Google, or the one corporation that owns all the sub-corporations, whoever) poured a bunch of resources into moon exploration instead of helping the homeless, starving and sick. those "gonna help mankind 1,000 years from now" vanity projects weren't worth their weight in lint.
