has anyone else read The Stand or seen the mini-series by Stephen King?
i'm currently reading it and i've never read King before and i really like it.
i was planning on getting the DVD to watch when i finish the book (i'm about halfway through) but was wanting to talk to any fans who could let me know if the mini-series is worth the watch.

i really like the book. the story and characters are great, but i don't want to waste $20 if the film version is bad and doesn't live up to the book's potential.

The mini-series is ok. The book is one of his best. I did buy the dvd after watching it at a friends.

Is The Stand the one with Catherine Willows or was that TommyKnockers?

The Stand is pretty much the peak of King's writings, and maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's the general consensus.

I really liked the DVD. I have seen it many times.

I only saw the movie/mini-series. It was pretty good. Rob Lowe was in it...so that was also easy on the eyes.

The book was so much better the movie---which is usually the case, and with King's work mostly the rule.
