April Foos Day Pranks
Yeah, I think it's an April Foos Day joke because I've written some pristine pieces today and they have all gotten challenged with that, (Automated Notice: HA, you screwed up bigtime plus somethings wrong with your grammar, can't you spell, foo?) thingy.
HAhaHa! good one you guys! hehehe


I've fallen for 3 or 4 impractical jokes today, but it doesn't bother me. It's all in fun. I'm just glad the mods couldn't figure out how to have our computers 'pinch' us because I didn't wear green on 17 March...St. Patrick is prolly pist off and i'ma be going to hell -- don't rub it in! lol
 
Li'l Bit looks forward to seeing what crazy new pranks the Powers That Be come up with for April 1. Some people just need to buy themselves a sense of humor.
 
I vote next year Sloppy Seconds' posts be the only readable posts and everyone else's look like his usually does.




That would be a good joke.

Including whoever came up with 'the system' as an april f00ls day gag.
 
Next year, if such years is to happen... let's hope they will find something a little less juvenile, and also not as taxing on the system... JUB was inordinately slow for me today...

Maybe a nice big hoax, slowly building for a few days...
 
Rather weak compared to last year. But who cares? I love to see the reactions of CE&P posters. I wished they had changed the liberals' favorite words to I love the Republican Party or something similar. Heads will explode.
 
geez some of you will never be happy. this stuff requires a lot of work, and people around at the times to pull it off. and those people might have real-life commitments as well and thus can't make super elaborate stuff every year :roll:

apart from that more than that auto-correct and "magic" was going on. the best things sometimes are subtle. not every year you can be in the middle of the attention as the mod for a day :roll:

however - most people give us positive feedback every year and some people really fall for it and laugh about it. and that's why we will keep doing it for them. if you can't laugh about it or about yourself - maybe abstain from JUB next year and pray that nobody pranks you in reallife ;)

Jayden, 'The System' is a permanently logged in 'member' that does some automated housekeeping. It DOES have it's own forum at Mod Towers where it posts threads for our attention. This is not part of the April Fool's jinks. :)

OK so I fell for the april fules *humour* hook, line and sinker. It probably wasted 1/2 hour of my time. If 150,000 users also wasted that much time it becomes questionable if this is actually humour. JUB was sluggish yesterday and even today it took 2 minutes to load instead of 2 seconds.

I didn't fall for any of it as I expect them on that day. It was humorous to search through and see the pranks throughout...and especially fun to see how some posters took the pranks seriously or one step further.

All good fun. :)

Thank you, mods, admin, and staff for working on it, though. I did like the fake spelling check alerts though, and actually did go back and check my posts a time or two. :lol:
 
That waz so krool with uz foreigners. I edited 17 times my post (s). And we don't celebrate April's fools, we do it December 28.

That's a legitimate point -- the 'holiday' isn't universal. Maybe a heading for the day would help, something like "Ape Real Fuel's Day".

Beyond that, anyone could have done a simple test: use control-C to save a copy of your post, and replace it using the edit feature with "See Spot run" or something equally simple and obviously correct, and if the "notice" still shows up, it's obviously a joke -- and then use the edit feature to put your real post back while rolling your eyes at the weird sense of humor of Mod Tower.
 
I behaved like a bug. I went to post and got the red error message which is fine because i had both grammatical and spelling errors which I corrected. After I clicked on post the message didn't go away leading me to think that u guyz had in fact installed a checker and it was buggy in that the message wouldn't go away.
Btw control c must be for windows. Copy in Mac (Corny's fav OS) has always been Command + C:D
