The Titan 4000M Submersible

A real tragedy with the death of the five people in the Titan submersible.
The OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, who was onboard ,was a guy who admitted he liked to "break the rules".
I wonder how many women he was fucking? I'll bet his "torpedo" was in a number of "tubes"!

It's difficult for me to imagine anyone thinking that visiting the wreck of the Titanic could become routine enough for paying customers to schedule a ride to the ocean floor. That idea illustrates a total disregard to the truly alien environment of the world's oceans. More people have been to the moon.

Well this is one of the weirdest posts in the thread so far.

More crap for overloaded court dockets, waivers be damned.

Perhaps with DNA samples, though, life insurance policies can be tidied up quickly.

Judges will throw claims out of court and insurance companies will gladly
wiggle out of paying any policies.

I saw some articles that said they believe they have some human remains inside what is left of the craft - I guess maybe that would give the family something to bury but if they are saying "presumed" human remains it must be a pretty bad sight
In other engineering disaster shows, they covered submarine implosions. If I remember correctly, they basically are almost atomized by a shockwave of pressure when the hull gives way. Think being hit by the backburner of a jet engine, minus the flame. People are always fixated on getting sucked into and through a jet, but the pressure of it leaving is plenty strong to blow you to bits.

As a death, it's a great one, as there is no pain, no thought, just instantly gone.

In this case, one does wonder if they had any warning at all, a cracking sound, a tiny breach or spray for a second or two before the crack propagated.

^ It's more tragic when 5 people die because of money. Reducing structure by 2 inches to save money. Using a viewing port rated for 1,300 metres for a dive to 4,000 metres to save money. Crossing fingers and hoping nothing goes wrong to earn money.

I'd say it's more ironic since some of the victims were raging capitalists themselves.

What David Pogue learned (seen through hindsight) when he went on a Titan expedition for CBS Sunday Morning:
