I know I can't be the only dude on here that has read the "The Twilight Saga" by Stephenie Meyer. My two coworkers are grown women and they were just enthralled with it so I had to see what it was about LOL and i got sucked in too! Any thoughts? Team Edward? Team Jacob? Switzerland? LOL

Oh yeah! And WHAT about that movie?!? That's their Edward?!? Driving that hatchback?!? Abysmal...

The series was completed a few months back with the release of Breaking Dawn, but she is working on another book (Midnight Sun) to complement the saga that tells the story from Edward's POV. She said on her site that she has more time to devote to it since Breaking Dawn is done.

I work at a book store.
I realllllly can't take this book seriously. It's just too melodramatic. With phrases like "as I laid my head against his wintery chest, all time stopped" (don't quote me on exact phrasing, but you get the picture), I can see how teen girls like it, but I dunno. I don't think I could get into it (even though it apparently has a somewhat interesting story). Teen drama is a turn off.

I just started the first book...I like it so far....we'll see how it plays out..lol

I just finished Eclipse I love the books. I'm not a huge fan of romance but there is just something I really like about them. My favorite character has to be Alice and Rosalie.

I cant wait for the movie in November.

I dunno...it kinda has a cult following among hopeless romantics, who want their own Edwards. I actually really liked the series (surprise surprise), and it was a nice little fantasy world to escape to when I didn't want to deal with the fact that gay people at my university are such annoying bitches who don't have hearts at all. So...a story about a vampire who falls in love with a human? Well...that made my week (fyi I read the entire series in the course of last week). Loved it. Can't wait for more books if she can churn them out. Hoping she doesn't give up on it. :-)

No idea if it was Midnight Sun, but I heard she canceled a book that was linked to the series because a draft was leaked out on the net and isn't planning on writing on the series any longer.

I've read the whole series....Twilight was the best book. It goes down hill from there. Still interesting though.

I'm about 100 pages into the first one and I think it's okay, but I agree with people who think it's too sappy, etc. I can see why the target audience eats it up though.

On a superficial level? I'll go see the movie because Robert Pattinson is in it. :P

Yeah I read on the site yesterday that she put Midnight Sun on hold "indefinitely" because drafts of it got leaked online without her knowing so she's going to work on some other projects and focus on family and such for now. It does get very sappy at times, I just tried to skim over all that LOL My coworkers both want their own Edwards LOL...I'd take Jacob any day though personally LOL

I had no idea that this series was out there until a couple of months ago. I just picked up a paperback copy of Twilight, because I want to know what's going on before the movie comes out this winter. BTW I'm looking forward to seeing Robert Pattinson on-screen again (Cedric Diggory was so hot). There's another member of the cast that I won't mention, 'cuz of the whole "age" thing. But once he turns eighteen in a couple of years, oh, the objectification will begin!
