It's good pre-teen/teen stuff if Stacy likes it. I have not read Twilight but I might give it a try. I trust your taste. :D

I really liked the series, especially Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I will unashamedly declare myself a member of "Team Jacob." I always preferred his character to either Edward or Bella. idk, I guess I just like the underdogs. The only real problem I had with the series was the dynamic between Edward and Bella. I mean, was I the only one that got annoyed at the way their relationship was described in the books? I understand that they're in love, but seriously, it kind of came off as an obsession--especially on Bella's part. I guess all the little teeny boppers gobbled it up with a spoon, but it irked me.

I enjoyed the series. Finished all 4 books within two weeks. Liked the storyline, and was only slightly annoyed by some of it such as Bella being a complete wimp.

I liked the series horrible writing but still addicting, once i finished breaking dawn though i felt sick, it was horrible with so many cheap plot twists. Then i saw the movie and now i want nothing to do with the series. The movie was honestly the funniest thing i saw all year! it was so bad. I was embarrassed for almost all the actors.

I read the first two before the movie and finished the second two about 2 weeks after the movies was released.

The thing with Twilight is I know its not a literary masterpiece. I know its not great story writing. However I do know that I adore the characters. You kind of grow attached to them as you read and honestly I love reading about them. If there was just a book about the day in the life of the Cullens I would probably read it just because they are so fascinating.

Has anyone read the half finished manuscript of Midnight Sun?

I have about 300 pages left in the last book. Meyer seems to be trying to tie everything up too neatly and quickly. It's kind of frustrating.

Make sure you have time for the last 200 pages. I didnt put the book down.

I totally agree. She has a very good sense of characterization more than anything else. I was just talking with the friend who told me I needed to read the series and she said that if there was a petition for Meyer to write more about the characters she'd sign it.

They stay with you. And that is why I continue to read non-stop for so many pages. I just want to know more about the people. The story doesn't matter so much.

I would sign that petition. I love just reading more and more about them. Even Rosalie and her bitchy ways. I wish Meyer would re-write all the books through Edward's perspective because his is so fascinating (Especially New Moon, I want to know what the hell he was doing). Who am I kidding I would read them if they were through Alice's perspective!

i'm reading eclipse now! chapter 15 was unbelievable! i can't wait to read the rest of it!!!

team edward all the way.

My friend excitedly recommended this book to me, thinking I'd love it because I love Interview with the Vampire. At least Anne Rice made her vampires different than bram stokers. I don't want teeny, unoriginal concept. So, yeah, I was kind of insulted when my friend gave the book to me.

Although I love Pattinson because he's Cedric in Harry Potter, I still will not watch the movie.

Did you read it?

I finished Midnight Sun. So not fair. Hope that she finishes writing form Edward's point of view. I want to know more.

Yeah it's probably about 100x more interesting from his point of view IMO.
I wish Meyer would rewrite them all in his perspective. I want to know what the hell he was doing and thinking in New Moon and The Jacob part of Breaking Dawn.... okay I just want to know everything he was thinking the entire time.

I finished Eclipse & LOVED IT. I can't wait to start Breaking Dawn. But, I'm kinda nervous to start it.

I hear it's a good book, but a lot happens in it. I also hear that it's really rushed, & things happen, & you want to know more details, but Meyers doesn't give them...

I didn't read all through your thread ;) cuz I just finished the first book.

This is the first book I have finished in years. I just couldn't put it down. I'm going to order the other 3 books from work tomorrow.

Glad you enjoyed it MP. You'll enjoy the whole series. Report back when you're done :D

I think I'm addicted to the characters as much as they are to each other. I am actually sad that I've finished the series.

I still have the pieces of MIDNIGHT SUN to go. I really hope she decides to finish it one day.

Okay Stace... I'm going to take a hot bath now but when I get back I'm gonna rant and ramble for a little while about all four books and Midnight Sun ;)

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ANY ONE WHO HAS YET TO READ THE BOOKS! :p

OK ;)

I became so absorbed in the books that I didn't realize how many parts of the storyline I hated.

Edward leaving her in New Moon was really hard to accept but I could almost see him doing that after Jasper lunged at her. I skimmed through what seemed like 2/3 of the book because I hated Jacob. I didn't want his character to be there at all :p I realize she needed a friend while Edward was away but I didn't like the love that developed between them.

I hated how Bella became like such a HO trying to molest Edward. That seemed so out of character for her.

Edward's proposal I could get because of their love but then she says NO? WTF he has to promise to bang her and bite her before she'd even say yes.

Getting knocked up with a vampire half-breed on their honeymoon? ARGH! I hate that. It seemed like their life together was finally coming together and then that. Hadn't her parents already warned her about protection? Maybe Edward was so rough it broke the rubber :p

I never felt their love the same after she got pregnant. Even when they were alone after the birth they just banged all the time. I just didn't understand what had happened with them.

Jacob imprinting on the half-breed daughter?! I wouldn't have minded that as much if he hadn't already been in love with and kissed Bella.

I LOVED the first book. The way they acted around each other, the lullaby her wrote for her, spending every night in her room with her. That is why I fell in love with the characters. I only felt that strongly for them again when he came back and when she said yes to his proposal.

I did like the part at the end when she finally learns how to let him in to her mind. I can see the look on his face :D

okay... lemme have it

:p

The first book was just so great because they were finding each other, falling in love, playing with all the newness of everything. That's what got me roped in and that's what got me reading the whole series. I wanted to know how it all worked out.

I don't know if I was more jealous that she got Edward or was just envious of the type of love they had.

oddly enough i enjoyed the movie, hopefully the sequels will be good, so i doubt ill read the books
