CHAPTER 8
Bobby, stunned by what Jason had just said stood there, and the only thing that he could muster out of his mouth was, “You know it's me right.” Jason laughed. “Bobby, I couldn't recognize you what with all the lights on.” Jason said sarcastically. “I love you to, I've loved you for the past five months. I've just been a coward, and I haven't said anything to you.
“Don't, knock yourself for not telling me. Trust me I knew.” Jason said. Bobby looks at him, stands up extends his hand to Jason who takes it, and on cue like some cheap, amateurish gay short love story. “Somebody” by Depeche Mode comes on, and they dance the night away.
The months passed and the love they shared grew only stronger. Neither could imagine living without the other. Bobby, literally cried alone in his bedroom, because he couldn't believe what he was feeling. Inevitably talk of moving in together came up, and that's just what they did on the day after their first anniversary Bobby and Jason moved into a quaint one bedroom apartment. There was a short period of adjustment, but before long both felt they had made the right decision.
Jason, was coming home from a walk when he noticed a strange man waiting outside his door.
“Excuse me can I help you” he asked the man. “Great not you to” the man said. “Jerry?” asked puzzled by what he was seeing Jerry had dropped at least ninety pounds of fat thirty of which he turned into muscle.
“Jason, it's good to see you.” Jerry said. “I can't believe it's you.”
“Yeah went to Europe lost ninety pounds had reconstructive surgery and now nobody recognizes me”
“It's such a drastic change, I mean I only recognized you because of the voice”
“Where's Bobby?”
“He was at work, but he got off he should here in a few minutes.”
“Don't say anything I wanna see if he recognizes me”
“Sure.”
“So how have you been Jerry?”
“Good, really good”
“That's wonderful.” Jason thinking how could this get any more awkward well he was just about to find out as Bobby came driving up and parked the car. He walks to them. “Holy shit! Jerry, I can't believe it's you.” Bobby said. “I can't believe you recognized me you're the first one to do so” Jerry exclaimed. “I'd never forget you Jerry”
Bobby suggested they go to dinner to catch up. Jerry agreed, and Jason was uncomfortable they talked about all the sights that Jerry went to. How he lost the weight with diet and exorcise. Bobby asked if he had seen any of the old gang, since he came back.
Jerry said that he had seen James and his daddy, and that he went to go find Jimmy, but he was nowhere to be found. Bobby said that Jimmy was becoming harder and harder to track. He told Jerry he suspected Jimmy got involved in drugs, but that he didn't know for sure. Bobby asked if he had seen Nick. No not yet he was going to the club that night and was hoping to run into Nick.
Jerry then suggested why don't they all go to the club. Jason quickly answers that they already have plans, but maybe next time. The conversation continued as they finished their meal, and each left in their own car. Bobby and Jason were driving home after the dinner. “Why did you lie?” Bobby asked
“Because I'm uncomfortable around him.”
“You shouldn't be I doubt if he still has any feelings for you, and after all he is the one that brought us together”
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
“That night before I went to talk you. He told me that he had spoken to you and that you were waiting for me”
“That didn't happen Bobby he came on to me I told him that all I wanted was a friendship. He got upset and told me that one day I would regret hurting him.”
“The night we got together I was downstairs waiting for no one he walked by and ignored me, and then five minutes later you came around. The rest is history.”
