The Walking Dead [merged]

Re: The walking dead

Okay, so I've caught up with this whole thread and with the series. I've recently started getting into Zombies this past year. I've watched all the "...of The Dead" movies by Romero and the 28 days/weeks later. The former reminding me of this series' introduction. I also loved Zombieville and Woody Harrelson's fine ass bubble butt playing in it. Can't wait for the interpretation of World War Z with Brad Pitt next year. Brad Pitt just doesn't accept whatever role, and I certainly didn't expect him to accept or play any Zombie-related movie. If it's anything like the book and with Brad in it, it WILL be good.

I've only JUST now caught up with TWD. Wanted to watch it since last year, but never got around to it. I've recently re-instated my Netflix account and saw they had the first season, so I had a marathon and loved it! Then I bought the first two episodes on iTunes and was all caught up by yesterday's new episode.

As someone in the first page mentioned, that poor horse! :( I watched through the end of the credits JUST for the AHA disclaimer that no animals were harmed! phew

Comments on the show; I love it. I'm in lust with Rick and sometimes Shane. I like how they keep it human. Someone on this thread mentioned it perfectly; Zombies are more of an afterthought and it's more about how people cope with an epidemic.

Last night's episode was pretty good. Can't wait to see how it turns out. For Rick's wife, I know you want to satisfy your sexual needs, but think about what you might bring into the world (in the show.)

Also, does anyone know where I can read/buy the comics? Reading this thread makes me want to read them more. It's like Manga, usually better than Anime counterparts.

Re: The walking dead

1) Yes, I'd drink the water from the well as long as the zombie was no longer in it. Yah, right! What were they thinking???

2) Yes, I'd go out in the dark all alone to take a pregnancy test. [-X Was the bathroom occupied??

3) The quiet moments like the one in the pharmacy make me nervous. In reality a zombie hoard could happen upon them so it wasn't believable to me.

1. Seriously. XD

2. That's the FIRST thing I thought as well. Where's the restroom!? Seems like she WANTS to get bitten. To make it more believable (and to cleverly use the dragging effect some new episodes seem to have), they should've had her knock to see if the inside restroom was occupied. Then, knowing it was, she took this approach. Instead, they gave us what they did and left us scratching our heads.

3. I thought for sure one would pop out in the pharmacy. XD

Also, a lot of people mentioned/asked how was it that the zombies weren't able to smell them being so close to them when supposedly they're supposed to be able to smell them fairly easy. The only situation I believed was the Daryl and T-Dog situation. A better explanation should have been given as to why they were able to hide so close to where the zombies were walking and weren't sensed.

Re: The walking dead

Just found The Walking Dead a few days ago on Netflix. I'd heard about the series but was reluctant to watch because typically I don't find that particular genre entertaining. Boy was I wrong. Just goes to show that a good story and a decent script can work. Now that I'm all caught up and have the DVR set for Sunday night's, I can sit back and hate Shane with the rest of you. I think his character is well developed and wonderfully flawed. Makes for a great villain.

Re: The walking dead

Actually the hiding-under-the-car scene was discussed in "Talking Dead" The zombies don't have a heightened sense of smell or hearing. How can they, everything is rotting so as long as everyone was still and out of sight, they could hide..

The hearing is bad too? Isn't that kind of strange, though? Especially when they don't want to shoot, since the noise would attract walkers? Oh, and in the first season when Glen brought back the car with the alarm still going off.

Anywho, I thought about it. One reason why the season is going slow is because they're not in the big city....so now walkers are spread apart....There may be some that come in packs, but even then, it's not like the amount of walkers all over Atlanta.

With that being said, I enjoyed this week's episode. Poor Darryl! I would kiss his booboos to make them all better.

Re: The walking dead

This week's episode was fantastic! It really brought me back into the show. I loved it! Thank you AMC!

Re: The walking dead

^Ha! I usually don't "hate" anyone unless they've done something to me but I can say I hated her today! Why the fuck would you shoot, making noise thus, jeopardizing everyone just for your own pleasure!?

Re: The walking dead

Andrea...I won't feel bad if she becomes zombie food

Re: The walking dead

I hope they find sophia soon...but anyways I can't wait until next week!!!I look forward as to why there is zombies in the barn .

Re: The walking dead

I actually liked tonight's episode. its finally picking up a bit. Andrea really gets on my nerves on the show, and i think its funny because in the comic she was one of my favorite characters.

Re: The walking dead

If they don't stop finding the girl or move on, I will just watch the show for Daryl. Shane is turning out to be a great character on the show. I kinda supported his argument to move on. Rick is taking everything too seriously. Talk about having a hero complex. Glenn is cute. No character development for T-dog. Kinda disappointing because he is the only black person there and I do believe he has a story.

Andrea, what the fuck?. If I was there, I would have climbed up the RV and kicked her dumb ass down. And the fact that she got over it fast just pissed me off.

Where are all the badass female characters? Laundry, cooking, crying, pissing on pregnancy tests in an open field.... it's a zombie apocalypse in the 2011, not in the 1890s.

Re: The walking dead

I imagine there are zombies in the barn for the same reason there were zombies in the basement of the apartment complex at the beginning of Dawn of the Dead (1978). Some people have a hard time killing family members and close friends, even if they are already dead. Plus the old man did say he believes there is going to be a cure... nature's way of correcting itself?

Re: The walking dead

1. Andrea needs to have her ass kicked. At least two people told her not to shoot, but she did it anyway. She is just one fuck up after another. I'd shoot HER in the leg and leave her for the walkers.
2. It's obvious the old man doesn't want them there. Take a hint and leave.
3. Burn the barn before you do.

Re: The walking dead

Only have about 2 of the comics so far so no idea if this is following the series, but I'm getting tired of Sophia being missing.

Find her alive or let us know she's dead. The thing that gets me is they could have just shown us a scene of her alive or dead to let us know.

Re: The walking dead

The season has be so Zzzzzzzzzz. It's the polar opposite of last season.

Excellent point I had not thought of that. My feeling was why doesn't the ole man just burn the barn down since it's not as if he will ever use ut again; but now I think you may be on to something.

I guess in his mind those people are still living? If there were a cure, I'd doubt it would bring those people back to life. It would probably work on someone who's been bit but still alive.

I believe the creator said he's not going to follow the comics just because he'd like for the show to have it's own...thing...or something.

I have a feeling that the hunt for Sophia will soon end. Just a hunch.

Does anyone else watch "Talking Dead," the aftershow discussion?

I watch Talking Dead once in awhile. I usually skip it and watch it during the weekend when I have time, though.

Re: The walking dead

I don't think there would ever be a cure for rot decau and death either. If a zombie cure ever appeared in zombie genre I think it would have to be administered after a bite before the victim actually died.

I don't think the old man sees it that way.

Re: The walking dead

What's up with that?!

Well, at least she's cooking... I mean, that's better than shooting down her own team mates. But if you think about it, even if they found Sophia, dead or alive, Carl is still recovering. Either part of the team begins to branch off, or they still stay on Hershel's farm. So even though the search for Sophia led the group to the farm, I feel like there are more things that are coming off from this. And now we see that there's a flock...errm...herd...party of zombies in the barn.
