The Walking Dead [merged]

That would make sense. But since everyone already has the virus, does getting bit actually cause you to turn? Or is it just the fact that when you are, you usually die? And then because you die, you turn?

Getting bit by another infected will probably increase the rate and making you get sick depending on the bite. Jim lasted what 12 or 16 hours with the bite from the attack on the camp.

It will be intresting to see if anyone turns by just having the virus in them..or it they have to die first.

They have to die first it seems. So this must mean that if the walkers killed Otis he is probably still a zombie, and even if you managed to tear apart someone's body like upper half of their body they can still be alive like the bike chick in the first episode and the Web episodes on the Internet. Unless they some how managed to rip apart Otis' head.

How has Carl not been bit? That little asshole is always running off somewhere, usually alone.

I was sooooo ready for Shane to go - now Carl has to be next............that kid is getting on my last nerve!! LOL:p

No! Not Shane! He was one of thed more interesting characters. You need villains like Shane cause zombies don't vocalize their antagonist part. Plus Shane was totally hot.

And hey, let's not forget that Glen drove the red car with horn blaring from Atlanta to the camp site. As we saw with the helicopter, the zombies are driven to walk by sound.

An interesting thing I found from the comics is that they explain that when zombies hear a noise they go to it. Some may forget, while others may eventually successfully get to the location of the noise. On the way, the zombies might bump into other zombies that will follow it eventually creating the herd. I guess this means Daryl will be teaching everyone archery :p

You have to die. Well, that's if Jenner was correct. You have to get reanimated or whatever. So your body starts...but there's no more "you" you. o.o So the you that you were would be no more. Sadness.(!)

Well, my point about Glen was in reference to Jim's premonition that graves would be needed. Maybe he was subconsciously putitng the pieces together -- Glen's blaring car alarm guided the zombies right to the camp site.

I'm glad Shane is gone -- tit for tat. I don't like what he did to poor Randall.

Randall was bound to kill someone if he was let go. Besides I am sure he would of died anyways.

Maybe but there wasn't enough character development to be sure. One of the producers said Randall had been slated to kill Hershel but they decided not to go that direction. He didn't seem overtly bad. Maybe he took part in the gang bang, maybe he didn't.

Here's one aspect of walker mythology I don't understand. If the breath of the walkers had to be digitally edited so that it wasn't visible during the cold temps during the barn fire scene, then how can zombies make noise? Doesn't sound making require the inhalation of air that's then exhaled? Kirkman and Co. need to tighten up the details imo!

It isnt a matter of breathing that is needed.. the lungs would still inhale and exhale. there would be steam because humans bodies are warm and our breath is warm too.. dead zombie bodies are not warm so there would be no steam..

but i rewatched the first couple episodes the other day with a friend and there is definitely some issues with the details. Like in the first episode the zombie girl bending down to pick up a bunny doll... and the mother trying to open the door to where they were staying.. Since then zombies are portrayed as not having any kind of memory or anything that would have them do that.

If the show gets bogged down on warehouse sets to resemble the prison it will go down like all of the cheap scfi channel produced crap. I fear that's the goal to get off location for production cost, you can say your in Georgia but film anywhere. Wouldn't be usual for a corporate interest to cut the budget the junior season once they have a successful product and rely on a couple more years for reaping in the advertisement profits.
By the way that prison cartoon`ish photo at the end was pure scfy channel crap, ridiculous.
They need to stay nomadic in nature to keep the show fresh and introduce new locations with different problems. It will grow stagnant as it was getting at the farm. It wouldn't be how I evnsion keeping a low profile in such a event. You don't want to be horded up in a huge structure like a prison.

I mean George Romero took us their with Dawn of the Dead and the vast shopping mall, might as well have a 24 seven megaphone on statin "we are here, wth weapons and food".

Anyway the forces of nature on our planet still dictate that the dead zombies will fall apart and rot, because that is what happens to dead stuff . Bacteria, insects, and hungry predators like coyote, rats, cougars, & bears aren't afraid of no zombie and hunger will allow attacks. A a pack of starving house pets from Yorkie to poodles will eat the shit out of a slow walker. Hungry carnivores in packs or alone are not like the cow, they will risk life for a meal. A million pit bulls in Georgia running wild will take down a living human too, another threat to the living.
So will flies and maggots take down a walker quickly without they even know something attacked their smelly rotting flesh.

..gators must be having a field day in the canals of south Florida as the millions of walkers stumble into around. Gator loves rotting flesh.
Vultures and other birds of prey must be dive bombing the shit out these walker herds picking them apart. Show some of that shit on the show!!!!!!! There is hope!!!

There will be less walkers and more survival of the fittest of the few remaining humans, who when dead will be walkers but the tide must turn on the millions of walkers to fall apart, at least how organic life works on earth where people breath and drink water. There is a past peak of zombies and the aftermath of doom.

Thus the title "The Walking Dead" who of course are the living and not the Walkers.

If an animal eats a walker, would it not die and come back? Like the ravens in Resident Evil?

I don't think the T or G Virus were like the disease in the Walking Dead. In Resident Evil if any kind of blood from a zombie was placed on any part of your body like an open cut, eyes or mouth you would be infected but that's if the virus stopped becoming air borne after a while. In Resident Evil Outbreak you had a percentage gauge that showed how much time you had left to live before the virus killed you. Just like in the movie how it took a while for Rain to become a zombie she was becoming weaker by the minute. The T or G virus really just kills you faster than the disease in Walking Dead but at least it won't kill the characters from the group until your heart stops beating.

I can't remember if they've already showed animals that have died and come back to life. I believe that in the mini episodes that guy shoots his dog but it doesn't show if the dog came back to life as a walker or just the guy putting his pet down because of him being injured by the walkers.

During the beginning most people were becoming so paranoid about this outbreak that was going on and so they were kill themselves after getting bit by a walker, I can't remember the comics as much cause it's been a long time that I read them. I remember the house that Rick came to on the series where he sees the family in their house dead and the guy on the chair blew his head off with a gun.

Probably when a walker's blood is mixed with a living person already infected it makes the process even greater thus making them die from just a single bit. But then I am sure there is another hardcore comic read that might of read the comics 400 times to understand what exactly it's going on. I think in the comics I was just finishing the Prison part.

Well, it sucks that they
killed Jimmy.
I'll miss
James Allen McCune.
He had a very nice ass in those tight jeans.

So, anyone playing the video game?
Just started episode 1 last night. Mixed opinions. I like the comic book look. But the actual point and click game style leaves much to be desired. Don't like being forced to pixel hunt for stupid things during a zombie outbreak. The dialogue choice is good, but the game control interaction could have been done in a better way. I don't like when games make a challenge out of doing simple every day things like turning on a basic radio. Hopefully it grows on me more as I progress through all the episodes.

I played episode 2 today, and it was much better than the first. Still not crazy about the interface or camera, but the story and game acting was pretty darned good.

Lolz, I'm actually loving the game <3 It's awesome how every little thing you do has an impact!

I can NOT get enough of Carley <3 I would love to see her in the comic/show.

I just wish the game was going on for more than five episodes :/
