As much as I enjoy the echo chamber here condemning Putin, Trump, Netanyahu, Disney, Network News, Fox, Target, and others, it is nonetheless true that IF the US ever overturns the madness that has engulfed us, we WILL have to build a new country with two sides cooperating.

The only way out and up for the U.S. is to create a new consensus, which inherently means replacing the extremists on the right with centrists to the right.

To that end, I launch this thread to name citizens, artists, politicians, religious leaders, institutions, and others NOT on our side of the cultural aisle who merit praise.

My choice is Cindy McCain, Director of the World Food Programme of the United Nations.

I have never been conservative, so I know our policy views do not align, but she has been a staunch fighter to do the best to get food into Gaza and other hell-holes.

On a personl level, I have difficulty praising a homewrecker, but all leaders have warts, and I submit that she is an ally for sanity on the right.

A reminder. This thread isn't about slamming any of the named nominees or companies or institutions. It is a positive list of potential allies, who are not already aligned with the left. Debate or attack their merits elsewhere, if you must, please.

Whom do you find notable?

Former Governor John Kasich of Ohio. As a US congressman he actually worked for the people of Ohio’s best interests. But yet again he’s just too damn old at this point, as is Cindy. We definitely need younger blood in the government.
