Whitney was real nice and gave some good advice to the contestants. And she looked gorgeous and sounded great.

Dany was horrible! He was just loud and he was off key and he doesn't even sing the melody. He is like one of those old black people in the church choir who sing all loud and think they are killing the song when they are really of key and sound ridiculous.

Aside from the wardrobe malfunction and her flubbing the lyrics a lil ("They held the song, we played our song" :lol:), she sounded great and just like the record. Had some nice strong belts. Overall: a solid performance. Awesome entrance and intro, too! :=D:
 
I thought Cheryl was better than Whitney, no offense to the majesty!

But I am gutted and probably will not tune in to the show again after Rikki's departure. So ridiculously unfair it's not true!
 
Cheryl put on a great show, but her vocals were not all that. She's not a great singer at all and her voice is very limited. And it was pretty obvious that some parts of her singing were mimed/pre-recorded. I do like that song tho!
 
I loooved Whitney's performance. Strong and solid. She definitely needs to learn that song better, tho. Its obviously very new to her still. :lol:

Can't wait till she goes on tour!
 
First I hated how they changed the song. Horrible. Second I wish she would of sang I look To You or I Didn't Know My Own Strength so she could really show her vocals. Third she looked good though.
 
Yeah she would have killed any of the two ballads. I wish she would've opted to sing one of them instead. It would have shown how good of shape her voice really is in. This song doesn't leave much room to work with vocally and with her moving all around and using up energy only takes away from the vocals. But it was the best performance of the song yet.
 
Her "wardrobe malfunction" totally threw her off her game...

Im glad that boy went today. He has no likeablitiy and wasn't even that good of a good singer.

I cant stand olly, he drips arrogance, the afro man is annoying, hes just an average pub singer, hes nothing special.

Danyl trys to hard.

Rachel is good but her make up and wardrobe is nuts, needs changing.

Stacey is playing the game, im not a fan.

Miss frank I want to love so badly but they arnt that good (also love how much whiter they made the black girl, with a blonde straight weave and light make up).

The twins... Well... they are so cheesy.

I like Joe, hes cute and can sing well.

Lloyd is like a back up singer in a boy band... hes not single artist material.

As for whitney, she seemed off her head on coke, but she was amazing and I love her.
 
The only reason why Cheryl's performance was incredible is because of her outstanding dancers and the amazing choreography. She has no great vocals, but it was indeed a brilliant performance as a whole.

As for Whitney, I don't understand why anyone'd watch someone sing live when there're more background vocal than the main vocal. She can at least have tried to sing as much as the background vocal, if not more?

I don't like or dislike Rikki, but I am bit surprised he's gone so early...

I dislike Lloyd... a lot.

Cheryl is nothing without the other girls. I dont even know why shes a judge, and telling the twins they cant sing when she cant sing well herself. Same with Danii, no idea why she is a judge either. If it were kylie and nadine, I would understand.

I'm going to cintinue watching the X Factor just because Cheryl has been such a good judge this series.

I love cheryl, shes a classic, rags to riches (well tracksuit chav to barbie doll) which I love but how can someone who cant sing well and has no real music industry knowledge udge others.

Cheryl Cole and Whitney Houston shine on X Factor

The diva of all divas Whitney Houston and Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole showed the X Factor wannabes how it's done on tonight's live results show.

After a week of 'will she or won't she be singing live' debates in the tabloids, Cheryl performed her debut single "Fight for This Love".

And what a performance it was. Clearly singing live (but with a little help of a backing track too), the boys' mentor proved her voice is up to scratch and even showed off some sexy dance moves.

That before US megastar Whitney Houston made her UK comeback, with new track "Million Dollar Bill".

Showing the powerful vocal talents of old, Houston - who has battled drug addictions in recent times - looked back to her best when performing.

She even had to contend with the back of her dress snapping mid-way through the routine but like a true pro she carried on.

It's just a shame she didn't show the same star quality when speaking to Dermot O'Leary.

Looking slightly nervous when quizzed by the X Factor host, Whitney took a while to answer each of his questions and seemed a little uneasy when put on the spot.

First Robbie's eyes in week one, then Whitney's nerves tonight... just what is that X Factor stage doing to these superstars?

Cole, Houston boost 'X Factor' ratings

The X Factor continued to dominate Sunday night ratings, overnight viewing figures show.

Last night's show, in which Cheryl Cole and Whitney Houston performed live, pulled in an impressive 13.17m (46.7%) for ITV1 between 7.45pm and 9pm, marking a new high for the series.

Simon and Louis know the business, they know what sells they have managed some huge bands. Also i said dannii was as useless. She needs to be replaced with Kylie.
 
I love Cheryl, it was an alrite performance, she was so nervous and of course nadine wasnt there.

Whitney wasnt great and seemed like she was on drugs.

Them twins are awful and their perfomance was so bad but funny.

Rachels like a British Rihanna.

I didnt like Rikki and glad he got the boot, he was awful and was always rolling his eyes.
 
Whitney had an alright performance, but I wasn't impressed. Every time I've seen her perform that song she lets me down, but she killed it with her other ballads. It distracted me how her backup singers are outshining her vocals. She really needs to work hard before her tour next year.
