The first time I heard their first album, it took me a while to get past the first song "Intro" because I kept putting it on repeat! Lovely band, I like the minimalist production.

During Pitti Uomo we’re nearly as excited to find out what’s playing during the shows as we are to see what’s on the catwalks. We asked some OC friends to hit us with their Fall/Winter 2013 show soundtracks.

In this original mix created for the Kenzo Fall/Winter show at Pitti Uomo, Jamie xx takes us up into the clouds, propelled by soft drum beats and sassy audio clips.

They Are Wearing: The xx Concert in New York

The xx can tell you, getting in the good graces of Karl Lagerfeld is a game changer. Nabbing gigs for Chanel has undoubtedly upped the ante for the broody Brit band, landing it at that sweet spot where fashion and music collide and the buzz amplifies exponentially. Fashiony fans came out in droves on Thursday and Friday nights to see the indie band at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

The art school crowd turned up early on Thursday, shivering while penned in behind the barricades outside, waiting patiently to get inside. “How can they do this on the coldest night of the year?” said one teeth-clattering teen, noting that the doors had still not opened 20 minutes after they were scheduled. “I can’t feel my toes.”

Concertgoers attempted to stave off the chill by bundling up in slouchy beanies, circle scarves and fingerless knit gloves. As for outré, black leather moto jackets (or, in many cases, Urban Outfitters pleather replicas), dark-hued dusters and overcoats, often with faux fur trim, were ubiquitous.

Once inside, layers were peeled off revealing grungy vintage T-shirts (or vintage revival look-alikes), Aztec print toppers, black skinny jeans or textured leggings. Footwear stayed pragmatic with either tricked-out Dr. Martens or more structured booties. Most completed the look with the hipster go-to: a red lip.

The XX's Four-Part Guide to Modern Romance

Modern musical romance is tough.

We've got Taylor Swift dating the whole world and putting their faults on blast. We've got Katy Perry and Ke$ha teaching us the ways of meaningless, drunken sex. Then we've got Drake and Lil Wayne blabbing all about having a kept woman, perpetually sprawled out on the bed in some paid-for penthouse apartment.

But what about those last remaining soft-souled individuals who've been holding out for real love, even when the only thing that they've ever known is heartbreak? Well, they listen to the XX for lessons in love.

This Tuesday, the English dream-pop outfit will bring its haunting, hollow-drum heartbeats to the Fillmore Miami Beach. But just in case you can't snag a ticket, we here at Crossfade have prepared a four-part guide to the XX's lessons in love and loss.

After all, let's face it -- you're going to love someone, and they're probably going to shit on you. Here's how to handle it.
