seat belt

seat belt

then in the last few months with some friends mostly my best friend we've been pulled over like 5 times for random BS

last speeding ticket? about 2 months ago, i was over the limit but not by much i went in pleaded guilty with an explanation and ended up paying 40% of the original fine.

parking ticket? the day before i got the speeding ticket above ( yes, when it rains it pours). It had been snowing and the driveway had not been plowed so i left the car out on the street overnnight. Didn't know you can't do that from nov to April so got a ticket and paid it right away. lesson learned.

Last time I got pulled over was last June. 'Failure to signal lane change.' Which it seems NOBODY in Colorado does anyway. I think the cop was just bored. I got a warning.

Last actual ticket was 15 years ago, I thought I was ok (I'd spent the night at a friends and DID NOT DRIVE), got up the next morning and wrecked the car avoiding a stupid deer. Still blew a .12, but by the time they got me to the jail I was already down to a .08 so all I got was an impaired. So much for doing the right thing. :grrr:

I got pulled over in college for a failure to stop...I fought it and won...it was a trap. The next day the City of Boulder changed the stop sign to a yield, just like every other corner in town (it still is a yield some 25 years later :D)

Yooper, you are right about the signaling thing. I'm one of the 20 people in southern CO who knows what a turn signal is for.

I've been pulled over twice in my life. The first time was when I was in college and speeding trying to get to chemistry class. There was a speed trap on the highway and I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop. He said I was going 69 in a 55. I really should have asked to see the radar gun but I just wanted to leave and go to class. I took it to traffic court on the officer's recommendation; what a corrupt system. I signed a plea bargain that knocked it down from 3 points to 1 for a "defective headlamp." It was about $170 dollars to take care of that nonsense.

The second time was about a month after that. There was a cop on the right side of the interstate with his lights on. I drove past him thinking he had somebody pulled over but I saw no one as I passed. He got on the highway and turned off his lights. A few seconds later, he pulled me over and I had a ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He seemed upset and asked, "How would you feel if I made you stand on this white line while all these cars went by at 70 miles an hour?" I was thinking, Wow, who hurt this guy's feelings? lol It was like $35 for that one. I'm so glad I don't have a red car anymore...
