There is no such place as the Americas

There is a country that changed continents. Panama was considered part of South America while it was part of Colombia from 1821 to 1903. When it became an independent country on November 3, 1903 ("Separation Day" in Panama) it became considered part of Central America, hence part if the continent of North America.

Actually geographers now consider it to belong to both North and South, as the eponymous canal that runs through it is considered its border.

Just like Egypt is now considered to be in both Africa and Asia.

That awkward moment when you prepare to tell someone that actually all of these lines and borders are imaginary so none of these cities, states, continents, republics, continents et cet are real.

Thanks...I've always WONDERED which continent the Sinai Peninsula was considered to be part of. (For that matter, the Bosporus Strait in Turkey is considered the dividing line between Europe and Asia.) I believe I read somewhere about a controversy regarding which continent Georgia is on. (DON'T say North America. I don't mean *that* Georgia.)

Aka immaterial pink unicorn.
With a purple ring around its second horn. (It added a second horn so it could be omnipotent.)

Where is this, and what is going on? Is it REAL? It looks like the wall would collapse with so many people on it...and WHAT are they standing on?

I don't think I would've posed for that picture. Way dangerous.
