I should be correct in saying that most recipes tell you to marinate chicken livers in soy sauce ginger garlic and honey. Be careful with some soy sauce can be extremely salty and intense. They can be diluted with a bit of water.

I learned this the hard way when i added just a tap to scrambled eggs I made for some fried rice. ](*,) Tasted like dumped a whole pound of salt.
 
I love the ^ flavor of the Kikkoman soy sauce but it is salty as hell.
