I will scale the walls of the Capitol, they better figure it out. Some reboots are just not meant to be.
This was a pretty naked attempt to snag a new young audience...so having Nana Buffy doing all the heavy lifting would have been a little disingenuous.
As it should be. We're not here for Sarah Michelle Grandma, she's just there to pass the torch and sell her weird food stuff.Oh no, Robert Meyer Burnett got his hands on the pilot transcript, and posted it on "X".
Buffy does not appear in the pilot except at the very end as a cameo character.

That's discouraging about the quality. This has to be done exactly right. I actually hired Dr Strange to use the time stone so I could see the future for this series. I saw 24,000 different timelines and there's only one where the series isn't cringe or a flop. Also I banged Dr Strange cuz Benedict Cummerbund is a total butterface. He looks like a confused meerkat but HE IS BODIED DOWNE.Only the pilot has been cancelled, nothing unusual. But the plan to bring the Vampire Slayer back is still ongoing.
Not sure I'm crazy about the idea of animated Buffy. Here's what floored me, Sarah Michelle Geller was not originally cast in "New Sunnydale" pilot!
Buffy veterans on-staff pointed out that you can't use the "Buffy" name without having Buffy in it. There was a bit of a tussle to arrange to have Sarah Michelle Geller appear in a cameo-role in the final minutes of the revised pilot. Buffy fans were stunned to learn that the original plan was to only have an all-new cast, to make a Buffy for a new audience!
There's no telling what could happen from here - maybe even an animated series.
