They might look cute, but they're bloody pests!

Photographed them today while we were out Sunday driving ....

great photos, having never encountered one here in the states....I can't say they're pests.

Why exactly do you think they're pests? As an indigenous Australian species, they might, of course, say the same about you! ;)

Adorable photos, ozguy! :luv:

See the one on the right in the first and second pics? It's posing for you, and it hasn't budged a single inch.

And the big one in the last photo tries a similar pose, but ends up looking goofy with buck teeth.

Do they hop away frightened like deer if you try to approach them? Or are they docile like cows?

noooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are noooooo pest the one who post the tread maybe....

Thanks! Great photos...gonna have 'roos as my desktop background for a while.

I read once that the Australian government was trying to get Aussies to think about kangaroos as food, like cattle. Is that still true? What might it taste like? Chicken?

No kangeroos are cool, and you can ride them to work. x

The look cute to me! The surroundings look great too! You are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place!

The ones in my neighbourhood don't run away - sometimes they go at you! Especially the males; not always friendly or even accommodating.

The promotion of roo meat has nothing to do with any government as far as I'm aware. Like all meat in Australia, it's private industry that runs the market. It tastes quite strongly and it is definitely tough. Okay in a ragout, but I have to say I've found the steaks and fillets to be far too tough and far too powerfully flavoured. I love venison and duck and pheasant, but roo is very strongly flavoured.

The smaller ones are definitely cute, but the big ones aren't cute in the least, especially when evil tempered.

I prefer Koalas.

So cute.

The girl koalas are cute - the boys are too, until they pee on you, but the old man koalas are mean, moody beasts. They're related to wombats, you know, which can also be quite grumpy. We had a big, old man wombat living in a burrow by the neighbour's damn in Wandin North, and whenever we rode through their orchard anywhere near the damn, the horses would start foaming and dancing all over the place. Sometimes he would charge us! Clearly not nearly fast enough, but big and mean, nevertheless.

When we first came to Australia, my sister and I and a couple of Swedish kids who would holiday with us would play with a female grey kangaroo at Pambula beach in NSW. She had a piece missing from her ear and was called Skippy, naturally enough! I have a photo, but I just realised I can't upload it due to image restrictions. Such a cute photo though.

ROFLMAO!

What can I say to top this?

oh - wait - i know --

I've never seen a Polar bear in Puerto Rico, so I can't say they're white?

If Oz says they're pests, they are -- don't they trample crops, cause property damage when they invade populated areas? etc. etc.
