ok so lets get two things out of the way. Im not going bald. My hair isnt thinning. Its simply thin. Has been since 8th grade. im now 22. It hasnt ever got any thinner or thicker its just like really fine. My barber calls it angel hair or baby hair.i cant really style it becuase once a product is in it its practically see through. But my whole head is covered and i dont have a receeding hairline. So how do i make it thicker? Is there any drugs to increase shaft diameter? Would rogin help anything? What about bosley? like if they doubled or trippled the amount of hair folicles i had. Certain shampoos help that kind of plump up my hair. But i love hair. Im a hair guy. Its one of the first things inotice on a guy, and i love great thick hair. LOL. I love fauxhawks and the tossled look but i cant do it and it pisses me off. How do i make my hair megathick guys?

Hey 530,
I don't know of a way to thicken the shaft. I don't know if you should be worried about it, though. If you have a nice full head of hair you are very lucky. A lot of guys love that, me included. I think fine, soft hair can be very sexy. Just because you love real thick hair on a guy doesn't mean no one will love yours.
Just my thoughts.

I've been blessed with a great head of thick lushy hair... So, cant really relate.

Have you talked with a good hair stylist? They may have some ideas for you. You just have naturally fine hair. Yes, there are some styles that may not work for you but discover the ones that will! Visit a PROFESSIONAL stylist, not the run-of-the-mill hair cutting "factories". He or she will be happy to advise you/consult with you regarding persons with your hair type. They may also have specialty products available that you aren't going to find on the supermarket or pharmacy shelves. It's worth a consultation and most professionals are happy to advise you.

I dunno, get a weave?

Seriously, you'll probably be happier in the long run if you just come to accept your hair. I dated a guy with really fine hair once who kept his head buzzed. It was like petting a bunny and felt really nice.

i get compliments all the time on how incredibly soft my hair is. But you dont notice how hair feels from a distance you know? im not unhappy with my hair but i could be a lot happier you know? Thanks for all the kind words so far guys.

I know what you mean. people always compliment on how thick and beautiful my hair is

meanwhile they don't realize it takes four conditioners, over 2 hours of straightening, and enough styling products to make the 80's look mild just to make my hair presentable without looking like an afro...

thick hair isn't that great either, ya know, although I do think if you get some very well done extensions, that might work.

Unless your natural hair colour is super special and you don't want to mess with it, you might try colouring your hair; the pigments will add a bit of body.

In the end, it's important to remember that everybody has problems. People with curly hair often want straight hair while people with straight often want curly. We see the deficiencies of what we have all the time and tend to focus on how those might be different in different circumstances. However, it's easy to overlook the benefits of what you already have. It's often easier to accept what you have. For example, if you thickened your hair, maybe you'd get really annoyed by all the extra care and time you have to put into it to make it look good.

Hey, I had thin hair as well.
I finally found a shampoo that really helped it, and also other people mentioned it to me, that my hair is so much better now than a few years ago.

Dunno if it's available where you live:
L'Oréal Elvital non-stop volume

My friend had the same problem. Like his hair shaft was thin not the amount of hairs. After years of trying different salons and products, his boyfriend suggested great lenghs extensions. He started getting them about 2 years ago and has never looked back. They have to be on the longer side so they look natural but its not girly or hippy looking. the longest pieces of hair hit about mid ear the shortest are his real hair and the look is choppy and layed very trendy. There not cheap but they get the job done. He's been really happy with them.

/cry. thats exactly how i feel. I always wanted to grow curly hippie hair just like my dad. Unfortunately when I grow my hair out, it becomes a mullet and nobody wants that.
