I miss video stores. My old Hollywood Video was such a big part of my life at one time.

I miss t-mobile sidekicks, like you said video rental stores, tower records and werehouse stores.

That red club people used to put on their steering wheels, Old television shows they never show anymore, shopping mall toy stores, drive in theaters, blackberry phones, Napster

Telephone party lines.

Far-too-many things to list, but I think the thing I mist most is the simplicity of my youth. Things are exponentially more complicated these days.

Everyone and their Mothers not being able to answer the telephone at the drop of a hat :D One can not go out in public today without the hoards ignoring what's going on around them while starring into that all knowing, all life sucking, glowing screen ..|

Dreamsicles. Orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream mixed TOGETHER and frozen. Not vanilla ice cream coated in an orange popsicle.

I miss how hard my friends and I used to have to work just to stay in contact. There was like one phone in the house if you wanted to call, and you could only go online when said phone wasn't currently in use. And if you were super lucky you would maybe have an hour or so where everyone was online at once and you could all chat together.

Sure, now I can chat to my friends any time of the day I please. But do I appreciate it as much without having to make the effort?

It's scary the way that people only 2 or 3 years younger than me never had to know that struggle.

Hallowe'en candy that you didn't have to check for sewing pins or razor blades.
Playing Hide & Seek with all of the neighbour kids... after dark!!
45 RPM records and the snap-in plastic adaptors.
Putting pennies on the railroad tracks.
Smacking cap strips with a hammer or a stone.
Making a homemade kite out of sticks, string, and newspaper.
Making forts out of cardboard appliance boxes or snow forts in winter.
Snowball fights. Simon says. Statues. King of the hill. Red light, green light. Kick the can.
Sliding down a hill in winter on a cardboard toboggan.
Building a sod dam to create a swimming hole.
Going for car rides because they were such a treat.
Drinking milk straight from the cooler on my uncle's dairy farm.
Gathering sap from sugar maple trees and making home-made maple syrup.
Mrs. Palmer's cookies.
The smell of leather in Mr. Mills' tack room.

I don't miss picking tomatoes or endless days of threshing grain and gathering hay.

Having enough free-time to enjoy JUB at anytime of day-&-night at my own choosing
