Think of Jihadis' WRONGS not their civil rights

JQ is SO not a part of this topic I'm not even gonna go there. I have time and again tried to provide support to him, and still do when he posts a new topic. The effect has been minimal.

I don't see anyone talking about respect and decency for KSM. I see talk of respect for the LAWS of the United States of America and human rights in general. Do YOU see talk about respect and decency for KSM? Please show it to me. Also, will you direct me to where anybody says that the victims deserve no respect and decency? Or will you give me an argument to the claim that somehow following the law is disrespectful to the victims?

He is obviously guilty, so the system will find him guilty, and he will receive appropriate punishment. Do you require stoning to be satisfied?

I vote for the big picture here. Vindictive rage has no place in the court.

he deserves NO respect or decency

he deserves the MINIMUM the law allows

period

ideologues like yourself focus on the rights of garbage like KSM and say nothing substantive about the victims

that is YOUR focus

as if you were his lawyer

the big picture is to not spend too much precious time, effort or money on providing this man with anything beyond bread and water

but read the piece by the first responder why don't u

it's the LEAST u can do

Rolyo 85 - I am sure you feel the same way about George Zimmerman.

I'd personally like to see KSM beheaded on live TV an hour after he has been found guilty.

I think George Zimmerman is scum who should fry. I also think he deserves proper trial and all his rights respected.

Chance, you do realize this whole process is highly political, right? The whole world is watching, and waiting to see whether the US can be a mature country that respects its own laws, or whether it's a vengeful brat who turns bully the second it's been slighted.

I also notice you did not answer any of my questions.

As for the article, I did read it. It's highly emotional, as it should be, and the description of the events that he witnessed, are terrifying. Nobody is denying that. Nobody is denying anything. But his outrage and hurt have no place in the court. The court has to be impartial, regardless of how difficult it is, how taxing it might be for all concerned. Because only then you have justice. Otherwise you have vengeance. And when you have vengeance, you've lost civilization.

KSM will burn, but not because we're angry at him, and regardless of how he's been treated before that. Because he's guilty, and will be found so. But how we conduct this process will tell the world a LOT about this country. What do YOU want the world to learn about the US?

I think all of you would benefit from watching this intelligent film by the great Michael Powell~

It makes the point that gallantry and civility are admirable human traits for which we must all strive. But those traits are not suitable in times of war. We may be well-fed and sitting comfortably in our armchairs but we are living in a time of war. They have declared war upon us.

LIFE AND DEATH OF COLONEL BLIMP is one of my all time favorite movies (and far too little known here in the States) but it in NO WAY advocates the dissolution of due process. We are not arguing about how to fight the war on terror we are discussing the trial process and to conflate the two is just wrong. If you can watch that movie and think that Powell and Pressburger are arguing that trials and the due process of law do not matter I suggest you watch it again because you must have missed something. You should see it again anyway (everyone should) because it's a phenomenal movie. Deborah Kerr is breathtakingly beautiful and Roger Livesy's Clive Candy is a performance for the ages (that VOICE!)

What are you reading -- some right-wing propaganda? You're certainly not reading this thread, to get things like you wrote above.

you're chinese and I'm korean

let's just leave it at that

it's easier

Easier than being honest and admit you're either not reading or are misrepresenting?

I suppose -- then you don't have to take responsibility for your deceptiveness.

since u won't leave it

i won't either

ur "deceptiveness" comment is unsubstantiated

and i don't care to deal with your nonsense

try reading this - i will type it slowly

MANY here care MUCH about terrorists rights

and never mention the victims until called on it - then they ADD in "oh yeah"

it's backwards

that's the basis for this thread

the backwardness

if you're a seinfeld fan

it's the bizarro world

Chance, I think we've been taught to care more about how we treat those that harm others - giving fair trails, providing food, medical assistance, etc. rather than care about the victims of the crime.

The families of those killed, maimed, mentally and emotionally scarred by criminals are often forgotten. Families those killed in 9/11 did get some money - but I remember correctly they had to promise much in order to get that money.

A fair trial does not mean the person gets the best medical care, good food and a clean place to sleep. Simple cheap meals, sheets are not cleaned for a week or more are just fine with me.

If you ever spend much time in a nursing home - you'd realize that the people in county, state, and federal prisons get better meals, bed linens, entertainment, exercise programs than the people in nursing homes.

Liberals always say they care for people that can't help themselves. The longer I live the more I don't believe this.

Aww, boo hoo, sad violins play tragtic music while victims suffer.

Bullshit.

This isn't about the terrorists OR the victims. This is about humans, regardless of who we are. YOU are the one trying to make someone be less than the rest of the people, not us.

Well, if you are ever arrested for a crime and awaiting trial, make sure to tell your jailers that. I mean, if you are arrested for the crime you will naturally be guilty, right?

Presumption of innocence until proven guilty is a tenet as old as our country itself and the backbone of our justice system. Why do you hate the Constitution Jack? Why do you hate America?

no it's about the victims

read the piece

first time for everything

and your sarcasm here (i hope it is) isn't funny

911 was a big fucking deal

and you clearly don't get it - don't wanna get it - and never will get it
