i really applaud you, beachguy if youre able to do this -- even the idea is awesome 
i reaaaaallly want a dog and not a fricken pure bred -- i want one that i know i rescued and i can love and make sure he/ she has an excellent home! too bad im a poor college student.
my parents have two pure bred dachshunds at home and i love them (though they are a pain in the butt!) but if we were just getting dogs now, i definitely would've made an argument for one that was in need... like from the pound :/
