I recently purchased a Compaq (HP) CQ60 notebook and it's awesome. I mostly use it for business writing so I did not need any real high end technology piece but it does have outstanding graphics capabilities. AMD Sempron SI-42, 4G Memory (RAM) and 140G hard drive...more than I'll ever need. This is my second HP laptop. I had the first one for 5 years and it was still working well when I sold it.

I have an HP laptop at the moment, it's fantastic. Mine has the same processor as the one you're looking at, and it works fine. It's only had one proper crash, I still don't know why it did it. I don't know anything specifically about the model you're looking at, but I can definitely recommend HP.

Go for it.

It's the best time right now. I wouldn't store anything to important on it right now, as Windows 7 is coming out in October, and you should be getting a free upgrade ticket, or option with the purchase of the laptop. And you WILL want to get Windows 7.

Get a Samsung. They just arrived to the states a few months ago and they're one of the best.

Go for it! That computer seems to be well optioned for the price and HP is a good company, just remember to add the warranty to it. :) I never personally owned a HP computer, just HP items like monitors and printers. My friends that have HP computers seem to not have many problems with them if any at all. If they have problems it's mainly user based and easy to fix.

I agree with Apollo and don't store anything of importance on it, wait for Win7 to come out! :D

So I think this might be the one I pick up. Not sure how long I'll be able to get it. But I believe best buy is offering that free upgrade to Windows 7 with computer purchases.
Yeah Best Buy is doing it. I would seriously nurse that coupon or whatever it will be until October 22nd when it comes out.

I personally liked Vista, but Win7 is like a dream.

Okay, so I know nothing about computers, but I do have an HP Pavilion dv5 and it is very nice to use - fast, easy to use for someone like me who is computer illiterate, nice to type on and good looking, too! Plus, the support is constant and reliable. My computer friends tell me that it's pretty much between Toshiba and HP for laptops. Actually, I like my computer for the first time. :D

It isn't just Best Buy. Microsoft will offer you a free 7 upgrade if you purchased your computer after June 26th, and if you have a version of Vista that is Home Premium or better.
