Third-graders : "assassinate Obama!"

Yup, the concern is not with the kids but rather the parents and other adults. Hatred is something that is learned.

Jack,
Everyone in the article spoke out against the chanting and the actions. Whom do you refer to?

I'm contemplating banning potatoes.

That's a great idea. Let's begin a boycott on potatoes like Anita Bryant's orange juice boycott.
For those who weren't around in the 70s, Anita Bryant condemned the Gay life and since she was a spokesperson for Florida orange juice we quit buying Fla orange juice. It really hurt the business.. I still won't buy Fla orange juice.
She was removed from the Orange Bowl parade, too, I believe.
Only if we boycott Ida pots who else grows them?
(!)

I shouldn't read more than one thing at a time, sorry I posted on the wrong thread.!oops!

No worries. I just wondered. Sometimes people quote other sources but fail to provide a cite.

Indeed, those parents should be ashamed. Although i have heard quite a few racial "jokes" since the rise of Obama's star. Hopefully familiarity will breed a more tolerant attitude.

As far as boycotts? i already try to use local farmers whenever i shop for both personal and business needs. the veggies taste better and the local farmer is less likely to have shit in his crop while pulling it from the field.

I dont think kids are idiots.. its the parents that raised them... Are any of them growing up in Trailers?

I don't know, Cher, I had some pretty lame-ass ideas all by myself when I was in 3rd grade.
If there's, like, a big kid with a Nazi-fetish, the little kids will think it's cool and so on...
In the case of Rexburg I'd wager that ignorant talk from the adults about how awful Obama would be played the role of influence. Many of them might look educated outwardly.
Sometimes the wide-open spaces let little minds stay that way, even with a beefy outward civilized look that prosperity can bring.

Well, Idaho potatoes are on my "don't buy" list, now.
