An old friend of mine had one. It was slightly more pink than the surrounding skin an just a bit puckered; you would hardly notice it. They form along what are called the mammalian lines. This regularly spaced pattern running much of the length of the ventral surface is the ancestral, unspecialized mammary arrangement--think of the rows of teats that pigs or dogs have. Some types of mammals, such as primates and elephants (and their closest relatives the manatees and dugongs) have evolved typically to express only two in the more anterior region, some, like whales, express a reduced number in the posterior region. Some mammals, like cows, goats, sheep and so on, have evolved a posterior grouping, the udder.

However, in all cases, mammalian genes still posses the capacity to develop the basic mammalian line, as shown by the cases when the line tends to become expressed, in reversion from the species' typical, specialized arrangement.
