Cool.

Did you happen to miss this also?

Seeing it as an accomplishment doesn't mean that they can't also want Republicans to seek to change it as well.

The number that should concern elected democrats everywhere is that 66% number for independents; THAT will be the deciding factor in 2010, and its shockingly lopsided.

Couple things.

1. The sample size is only 649, which is rather small compared to most polls.

2. It states it was taken right before the House vote on health care. Several other polls taken after that have showed a sharp increase in support in the last several days.

Rasmussen (which is typically the most GOP leaning of pollsters) even showed a 10 point increase in Obama's approval rating since the House vote. Gallup showed a 12 point increase in support for the health care bill after passage.

Actually, if you read the accompanying text (or even scrolled to the very bottom of the story) the poll was taken yesterday and Monday, so its numbers are comparable to those other polls. ..|

ah ok, I was just looking at where it said they reinterviewed people for the poll conducted on the 18-21. I stand corrected.

SURPRIZED???

Obamacare was shoved down the throats of Americans and you are surprized they want the Senate to bring it down. You vote against your constituents and pass what they told you they do not want and you are shocked at the response? These people that are shocking you are Republicans, Independents, and Democrats, too!!!!!

BE CONCERNED.

People want them to keep fighting the "massive expansion of health care by adding some additional rules to the health insurance industry" fight because it makes them look utterly Palin-American. Threatening violence by throwing bricks and cutting gas lines isn't going to get you much support from the sane.

This is bullshit. Polls indicate that most Americans wanted everything that was in the bill despite saying they didn't want the actual bill. Doublethink compounded by empty accusations of death panels and SOCIALISM.

If you had followed polls, you'd be aware that americans were pretty bi-polar when it came to the healthcare bill. They supported most of the provisions in it, but did not support the way that the democrats wanted to fund it. So, while they supported the idea of expanding healthcare and regulating insurers more strictly, they didn't support the ways that the government wanted to carry it out. (in essence, they supported the IDEAS behind the bill, but not the EXECUTION)
