I find it very hard to believe that 50 Black gang members simply went up to this guy for no reason .... shouting "This is a Black World."

My guess is that the guy and his two friends were drunk and stirring shit up, which prompted them to be attacked. Not that I am defending a 50 on 3 deal, as that was overboard, but I have no doubt that the 3 white guys were starting shit, which prompted the confrontation.

This happened in Ohio, of all places. Let's see what other Ohio residents have to say about Race .....

Hold on a second, Mystik, in another thread, I have argued that to the extent that black people freely choose to stick together, they are accountable to do something about the degree of homophobia coming from significant sections of the black community. In the other thread, you seemed pretty interested in "black community homophobia."

Which is why, in this thread, I do feel the same standard should be applied to the white community, to the extent that there is such a thing.

I feel accountable for my own thoughts and actions, and for that reason, I feel that those ohio idiots should know I am not on their side. I'm not their friend. I'm not part of their community. In short, they can't join my white community because their ignorance makes them unwelcome. But to the extent that there is a white community, I do feel responsibility to give them a slap upside the head for their bigotry. Maybe they would take it better to hear a bit of reality from me than from someone black. If so, I can be of use. If not, at least I will have had the pleasure of telling them of their stupidity.

As far as the Akron situation, my guess is less of a mob attack and more likely some vigilante justice. I'm not in favour of people taking the justice system into their own hands. Where's Kulindahr when you need him to disagree with you, though?

Like I have argued from the get-go, I agree and support individualism. I don't want to see colors.

But there is a much more overwhelming sense of Community and sticking together on the grounds of race with Blacks, then I feel that there is amongst Whites.

What I am after, is that I feel that when approximately 50% of a certain demographic demonstrates a common trait or characteristic, then it needs to be addressed.

I never said that all Blacks should take responsibility for the actions of other bigoted Blacks out there. But any trait or characteristic over the 50% mark on a certain demographic (in our case, homophobia and Gay Rights) becomes characteristic of a "Community". Again, I need to emphasize, I am not pointing the fingers at those Blacks who are not homophobic and do support Gay Rights. Why should they take responsibility for the bigoted Blacks out there and take any criticism about the Black homophobic people personally?

So in no way do I feel like I am talking out of both sides of my mouth here. If those White people in that clip represented 50% of the Whites out there, I would say "Yeah, there is a problem." But those Racist Hillbillies are only a small percentage buildup of Whites. And no, I don't take responsibility for them.

The Bottom Line is that I do want to see Blacks get to the point where they don't take responsibility for others who may do something wrong in the "Black Community" or at least feel quite as attached to the situation. I want Blacks to branch out from that Community and start blending into society as Individuals ... not people of color.

And the same mentality above applies to Hispanics, as well.

Well, I don't really know how much of a White Community there really is, or how united it really is. But if you mean that they can't join your own "personal community" then that's fine. I wouldn't want to socialize with them, either.

I would have no problem with anyone of any color admonishing them for their bigotry. Maybe it would have a larger impact on them if they heard it from someone of their own skin color to reinforce that that type of behavior in this day and age is unacceptable.
