Generally cash for small amounts and card for anything over about £10.

Debit Card, though they say you have more protection with a credit card. At least with a debit card, you actually have to have the money in the bank account, and once you pay, it's done. With a credit card there's too much temptation to spend money you don't have, and when the bill comes due, you have to pay what you've purchased, plus interest,

I prefer to cook these days. I like to eat out, but restaurant meals are becoming expensive these days, and I need to watch my spending.
