Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

This seems a bit counterproductive to me

^ No idea what's in it, but it looks like they're trying to make it look like a health drink.

I know parents are trying to get the government to restrict sale of the drink to children.

People with serious diabetes can go into a coma drinking one of those regular ones. Fucking disgusting. How anybody can put that chemical soup into their body is beyond me.

People with serious diabetes can just chuck down a regular coke that has been around for decades and not have an issue?

I disagree with junk for myself but could care less what junk another human wants inside their body.

Darwin was a good man.

There are way too many drinks like this here and yeah, they're junk.

My biology teacher uses it as nutrient sources for tissue culture and it works well.

I can't imagine drinking something that works as plant fertiliser

It's beyond me, as well.

One of the supervisors at my job always has a Red Bull in hand.

I don't know how she's still alive.

I've known young guys who drank Red Bull and vodka mixed.

The term 'projectile vomiting' springs unbidden to my lips.

...is that new to the U.S.?

Sugarfree Red Bull here exists since more than... 15 years I think.

I had it once. Thought it was tasty.

However, I don't drink soda, I definately don't drink energy drinks, and Red Bull's too expensive, so I never had it again.

When I was in school I used to live off of Red Bull.

Now they have no effect whatsoever.

It's marketed here in the UK as 'giving you wings'.

They used to advertise it like that here, too, but now they add the vocal disclaimer that it doesn't so much give you wings as it does energise you.

I guess too many people thought they could fly if they drank it.

(It's the only explanation I can think of for the disclaimer.)

Sorry, but if you know you have diabetes, and you drink a Red Bull, you are knowingly playing russian roulette. So i agree with the Darwin comment.
My comment about diabetics was meant to be in allegory.

How about if I used this quote from Wiki instead?

“The results of a study conducted in 2008 showed that the ingestion of one, 250ml can of sugar-free Red Bull, in a sample of 30 healthy young adults, had an immediate detrimental effect on both endothelial function, and normal blood coagulation. This temporarily raised the cardiovascular risk in these individuals to a level comparable to that of an individual with established coronary artery disease.”

Either way you look at it, the shit is fucking toxic. I can’t believe they sell it to kids.

So, the claim, "Red Bull Gives You Wings" is really truth in advertising.
