Never been there, but I've know several Moroccans both in the Netherlands and in Spain and am not impressed with the complete lack moral standards that some of them seem to feel the need to demonstrate.

They succeeded because their culture was in many ways superior to those of the nations they managed to occupy.

Considering how many regions of the world Europe conquered when it still wasn't bathing regularly because it believed God sent demons to give people illnesses in water, we'll put that into some proper perspective.

And, do you have reason to believe they are typical and representative?

The bad reputation they have in Spain, France, Belgium and The Netherlands and among other Muslim nations (than Morocco).
That and the preposterously high crime rates among the young men in their immigrant communities in Western Europe.

Having said this, I believe they're not the worst people in the world, but stray very easily from the straight and narrow and it is my belief that the event posted in the OP is typical of the kind of society that breeds the kind of people who exhibit this kind of behaviour.

I have no experience of them either but I had somehow got the impression that they were one of those cultures that was very liberal so long as you were discreet.
Maybe it is just a case of them being conservatively Islamised by stealth

Of course there's nothing morally reprehensible about eating beef: as self-owned individuals, we are free to choose to eat whatever we wish. Self-ownership gives us the Golden Rule, and that is the only rational moral ground.

Of course, and that's your belief from largely your western Christian ethos.

Some people believe a right-to-life and civil treatment from humans extends to animals, even to the point of eschewing eating any meat. And they think you are WRONG.

And some people hold cows to be special in the chain of reincarnation, and those people also would say you are WRONG.

And probably any number of overenthusiastic health experts would say that eating as much red meat as virtually any typical American does is horribly bad for you, and not natural, and not what your body was designed to handle without accruing all kinds of medical problems, and they'd probably say your view was WRONG.

And of course, you're perfect welcome to view all of THEM as WRONG.

It's when someone believes that they personally are the greater judge of this because of their "superior culture" or whatever else that we get into problems.
