This Week's "Brothers And Sisters"

OK so I don't watch this show on a regular basis but I did happen to see it tonight and may I just say I was kinda offended. IN one scene when three gay men were invited to a WOMEN'S only baby shower and one of them refused to go because he wasn't a woman, his position was mocked and belittled by the two other gay characters for not being a good gay and not doing what he was SUPPOSE to do as a gay. Well turns out he didn't actually have trouble being conflated as a woman (tee hehe how silly that would be) he actually was just shy about introducing his boyfriend to the family.

So if that wasn't bad enough... later in the show Nora found out the man she had been sleeping with was married and in an 'open relaltionship' and wanted her to join him. When this was discussed with four gay characters not one of them was in the favor of a monogomous relationship.... REALLY??? REALLY writers of Brothers and Sisters? Is it so foreign a concept that just because a gay man's sexual desires differ from the mean that he wouldn't be in favor of disregarding every aspect of a traditional relationship? Is it really not at all fathomable that gay men could find value in monogamy... like really? In a political climate where people are tryign to say that gays hope to wage war on marriage this is what we get from a show that supposedly is giving a positive portrayal of homosexuals.

I enjoyed the episode thoroughly.

The boys at the shower were quite funny, but you need to understand the relationships among the family members to see why.

I was very impressed by the fact that they got John Glover to play Uncle Saul's boyfriend. Hope we see a lot more of them.

I don't think there's much to understand other than the writers are incapable of see rounded gay characters. When what's his face asked Saul what the point of being gay was if he wasn't going to have fun (or whatever the fucking line is) my stomach turned... because that's what being gay is all about happily hopping into the roles of what gays should do PLEASE

I like Holly so i hope Tommy gets ousted. He is such an ass. Instead of finding a way to work together he goes and cooks up this scam.


If i have to hear Nora say "sorry" one more time i am gonna have a fit. Its so damn annoying. She needs to be stronger and stand up for herself and not back down. What she said to Kitty she never had to apologize for, as Kitty needed a wake up call.


Instead of making Nora say "sorry" so many times in every episode why didn't the writers make Paiage tell her mother sorry for the nasty things she said last week. I was very disappointed with their "make up" scene. Paige should have told her mother she was sorry, instead of using all the sorrys with Nora.
 
yeah... after the writer's strike these shows have only been getting worse and worse. probably due to the fact they've been on the air too long as is, but really i thought the writers would have gotten better by possibly firing the shitty ones that made the shows such a shit fest thus far, and firing the shitty ones, and getting better ones.
 
The show is dying each week. The writing is lost, but I would like to see where the new member, Ryan, works out. From his appearance he will be a misfit.
 
I still think the show is great...though I am glad that the Tommy storyline is coming to an end! I hear he's gonna go to jail, get out on bail then flee the country...that's how he's leaving the show.
 
Ryan is a complete and utter hotty. So Yummy.


Holly is one of my favorite characters so i am soooooooooooooo happy she didn't listen to Saul and sought legal advice. Why did she even think she could go to him in the first place? When did they make up?



I loved Rebecca's storyline today.

A Sarah-Lite episode (actually she was completely MIA). Boo. She's my favorite Walker these days.

Rebecca. You're no longer a Walker. Time to go already. I don't care about her and her non-Walker daddy issues.

I would rather see Holly stay and Tommy go, but I kind of want Ohi to be a Walker family business again. Maybe Sarah can swoop in somewhere later on and take Ohi back.

he new kid, Ryan is OK, and his reaction seems OK. I hope he attaches to one of his half-siblings and rejects Nora. That would be fun.

Looks like they are going to drop Rob Lowe and then Kitty will be out on a limb. Do not like the way this is going at all. Get Lowe out of politics and into something else. Politics is so 2008 for television dramas.....or should be.

I vote for the chick from the first season, was it Charlie or something? The hotel manager/high school crush. She was cool.

I'm a little worried for the show. It's still one of my faves but it's ratings never really recovered from the writers strike. Add to that the decline of DH and it's lead in has been far less powerful. B&S has been averaging only around 10 million viewers, which isn't that great. Hopefully we can still get a couple more seasons out of it. On a brighter note, it won its timeslot last night.
 
Yeah the preview made it look like either the baby or Robert die....though I think Robert dying would be more shocking then the baby....and that's cool cause he really is one of my least favorite characters.

I say kill them both and really shake up the show....Well, actually I like Rob Lowe and would hate to see him go. He just needs to go in a different direction in the story.
