Overnight sensation Samwell rose to stardom years ago with his hit music video and it's still one of the internets top watched videos on youtube and widely recognized viral videos.

The video has been parodied on South Park and even gave Samwell a Doritos commercial.

Do you think Samwell is just an internet troll that's downgrading the gay community with cheap shock value or is he just an entertainer who's done a good job using his sexuality to capitalize on fame?

DISCUSS?

oh and here is the video now in HD along with an exclusive interview :

Straight entertainers have been doing this for years, capitalizing on sexuality to become famous. I don't find it offensive. I just wish the music wasn't always so goddamn atrocious.

Nowhere NEAR as bad as Chris Crocker. Of course, Chris Crocker is character acting, but a lot of people don't realize that, and it became a reflection on the entire gay community for awhile. On the other hand, What What (In The Butt) actually became a short-lived internet meme that everyone thought was funny. No one was really offended by it, or no one thought negatively of the gay community because of the song.

In my humble opinion never heard such crap since all that Eurotrash phase
that seemed to make some gay guys go ga-ga .

Did my post in the "what's TOO gay" thread prompt this? :D

My friends were pretty 'shocked' by this video (well, throughout it they said things like "yuuckk haha", and "wtf haha". I even found myself feeling slightly uncomfortable (in a funny way) when watching some parts of it, and I'm gayer than cum on a mustache.

To take it seriously and over analyze it, I think the overt gayness of it IS purely for shock value, and I do think it's somewhat degrading. People who haven't been exposed to many different kinds of homosexuals MAY develop a negative opinion --- if their experience is based purely upon this video. Though, that's very unlikely.

'Cause mostly, I believe people just think it's funny how gay he's acting. It makes people uncomfortable (even gay people such as myself) and that's what's makes it so successful.

In reality, I think it only downgrades the gay community to people who already (or are inclined to) think badly of it, for what ever reason. Most NORMAL people will be able to laugh it off and maybe send it to their friends for a bit of a joke.

Let the Buyer Beware,

A fool and his money are soon parted.

What are you asking TOOL?

He didn't make anyone go out and spend money.

He did not blackmail or rob anyone at gunpoint or otherwise

force them to buy into his gig. If a moron opted to do so, then

a moron chose, selected, opted, decided (whatever) to do so.

More power to the kid, less respect for the public at large. Stupid is

as stupid does. Just wish I had thought of and pulled such a thing off.

Period, end of sentence. discussion and this non-event.

I remember hearing about this but I never watched the vid til now. And based on all of your comments I was expecting it to be much worse than it actually was lol. For some reason I thought it was going to be more raunchy and in your face lol. But yeah it was just kind of amusing in my opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Butters version is actually called "What? What? In My Asshole." According to that episode of South Park.

Here is Samwell's Doritos commercial:

Ah, the forgotten music career of Matter of Splatter.

Oh.....him?

An outrage, a virtual degradation of anything

having to do with the same sex cultures.

Disgraceful.

(y'all do know what smart ass remarks are don't cha?)
