If you want to make some money on the side without screwing your future I suggest you do the Escort.
Being an escort gives you the chance to choose who to have sex with (unlike street whores) and get paid for it, sometimes you get paid even if you don't have sex with your client as long as you are good company.

Not everyone can become an escort though, you need certain skills............
You have to be fit and good looking, talkative, open minded and good in bed.

hell yeah. being an escort may not cost me my freedom but at the same time, i just wouldn't feel at peace with myself and would be sad knowing that i gave myself up for some cash. if i'm really going to put my dignity or myself outthere for cash like i'm desperate, i would rather be completely in hell than to be halfway there. people will be able to understand the desperateness associated with doing something like drug trafficking in order to pay your bills than male escorting where people won't frown down on it so much.

I don't think escorting is a great idea if you want to protect your identity. When you're an escort, you advertise your services in print ads in gay magazines...or online through an escort website.

So people can still trace back and find out about your past.

You can always say no to a client.
I generally worked through agents who had a stable of escorts and a client list, so in many cases, clients were known beforehand. I understand that in today's world of rentboy.com that is now the exception rather than the rule.
You have a point re STD's. For that matter, if the actors in a video are tested, it follows that sex before a camera is just about the safest sex around, unless you're in a monogamous relationship.
I have the impression that many porn actors are also escorts, and make more money as escorts because of their work in porn. I've read interviews with a few guys who say they got into porn to promote their escort careers.
For all of my experiences in the sex business, I never once got an STD.

There were times when escorting was not my only job, both while I was in school and after I graduated, although on an hourly basis it was always the most lucrative. The hourly for escorting can't be matched unless one attains a highly placed and valued position in a well-paying profession.

In some ways yes, the interesting thing about porn are all the contradictions about it. Millions of people watch porn yet it is still taboo especially gay porn. I bet there are even homophobic people out there who privately watch gay porn films in their homes every night. Families can be affected by porn, relatives, ect. It isn't just the porn star who can suffer it is also their families.
