I paid cash for an older SUV and will turn in my 2021 Ford F-150 in January. I have been leasing trucks for around 5 or 6 years. This last truck was a disappointment in as much as the bells and whistles didn't work properly at times, also it was cumbersome and hard to park.

The main reason is that to lease another truck would have cost me $450.- $500. per month. Between having no payments and not having full coverage I will save around $400. per month.
The GPS on my smart phone seems to do the job (though the screen is smaller) and listening to FM radio in place of SiriusXM will save some bucks as well.

I just feel as though it's time to tighten the belt a little, does anyone else see this happening to them?

I get your disappointment with your Ford. My Dad's shittiest truck was a Ford.

We are fortunate that we don't have to tighten our belts (getting too fat anyway), but every month we keep driving our 12 year old Pilot, I feel that we have hit the jackpot.

And if possible we will trade in at some point for a 2015. None of the new vehicles are for driving. They are all for gadgets and shit we don't need. We are just about to drop another 1200 bucks into Missy because we DO NOT WANT the latest model.

I do agree that the US is likely headed for a dip over the next year or so, so economy might be a good thing.

We figure we''l wait until the market is shit and then bite the bullet.
