Hey all,

So my boyfriend and I, of over a year, have discussed having a threesome with my best friend. We both find him attractive and we'd both enjoy his "company," however I just don't know if bringing in such a good friend is a great idea. We are both committed to each other and are very much in love. This would just be a fun experiment.

I would really like to know what you all think and if any of you have had this type of experience before.

As a more experianced person, and by that I mean My partner/honey and I have been together for 24-1/2yrs and going. So I think I am well experianced.


I for the life of me,---> if you say your committed/in love. Would you ever do that.

when things go wrong you will remember the day that it happen.

The second you allowed it to happen it's done and started
no changing or stopping it.

In watching and listening to Loveline over the years, one thing they keep coming back to with their callers is this: threesomes often destroy a relationship, especially when there is an imbalance, as there is in this case. This isn't a couple going out and finding a random guy to hook up, never to see him again. This is your best friend. Sure, it could happen, be great, and you'd never have a problem afterward. Or, one of (or both of) the relationships could tank completely. You have to ask yourself if that's worth the "fun."

One reason many people introduce a third into a seemingly good relationship is because they wish to create chaos where there is none, thereby sabotaging the whole thing. Do you or your boyfriend have any chaotic relationships from the past that could be playing out here? Chaos in your family structures that might make you want to destroy what you have?

Is it worth the risk to you to do this?

We both trust him and neither of us would cheat on the other.
It's both of us or it wouldn't happen.
There is no underlying reasoning, it would just be fun.
Personally I'm about 50/50 and my boyfriend is 74/26.
My best friend will be leaving for law school in the fall and I thought this would be something special for the 3 of us to share.

Sounds like you've made up your mind. Advice then? Discuss with your boyfriend exactly what you should each expect out of this. Will one of you get mad if the other really gets into sucking his dick more than you do your partners? Will either of you focus on who is enjoying him more?

Is the fact that your boyfriend is more interested in doing this than you are a red flag? If he really gets turned on by your friend, will you start to feel a little jealous? What about watching them kiss? And what if one of you enjoys the whole event a great deal, and then wants to open the relationship again, this time to strangers? Are you prepared to navigate those possibilities?

I just got a call tonight that a long-term couple (15+ years that I know of) who are acquaintances of mine have split for this very reason. I guess it just depends on the chance you are willing to take.

Do what you feel is right. I never understood the hatred for threesomes, it depends on the people, pressure, etc whether it goes well or not.

I think this would be a very bad idea. There is just so much that can go wrong. Not only could it destroy your relationship, it could also destroy your friendship. I would just skip this all together

If you want to do something fun with your friend and your lover before your friend goes off to law school. Take a trip to Six Flags.

The risks in bringing your best friend as a sexual component to your relationship faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar out weighs any potential benefits.

But I've seen stranger things work out for the best. So... I wouldn't but *hugs* if you do :D
