"Tigger" Accused of Hitting Child

As I read this, I had the TV on beside me..... and it was one of the headlines. It doesn't look too violent... mind you it was in slow motion.

i'm sorry but everytime I hear about this i crack up laughing the snot nosed brat probally deserved it

my friend was a mall santa clause. you'd be suprised how annyoing and out of control some kids can be. I would bet good money on it that he was probally being a pain the ass which is still no reason to hit a lil kid but still.

I watched the tape and from the smirk on the kid's face all the way through, I would say that he did something to Tigger to cause this alleged "assault" I've lived in Orlando for several years and have gone to Disney MANY times. If I had to guess, I would say the father is looking for a way to pay for his vacation.

I think it could have been something innocent (like a pat on the head or Tigger accidentally hitting the hit when he moved or something in that huge costume) and the parents blew it out of proportion. Parents can be as bad a children sometimes if not worse.

Exactly, The noon news today had the video of the whole thing and it was nothing more than a playfull brush across the brats face, nothing more. There sat the father interviewed on TV saying "Oh I took my son to the hospital to be sure"
Please:rolleyes:

You know, I had to dress up like a cartoon character one time at this street fair and I have to tell you, you try to be as careful as you can but those costumes are really bulky and hard to manage. That's why you always see an attendant with the character. There was a few times when I'd bend down to get closer to the smaller children's level when my big head almost fell right off on top of them. How traumatic would that be???

And as far as the character grabbing the girls boobies, forget it, you can't feel anything through those thick gloves. I think people just look for reasons to sue.

I've worked as a big furry cartoon character and while you do meet some unbelievable brats, the kind of people who sometimes work as mascots and such can be some of the biggest freaks you can imagine. Child molestors, fetishists, sociopaths... sometimes kids are lucky if all they get from one of these people is a smack.

Thats what he probably needed from what I saw on the footage. Kids also take on another alter-personality when they go to theme parks:slap:

Innocent until proven guilty.

It looked like he maybe was trying to balance the kid because he was struggling off balance with the hug, and his arm accidently hit his face because the Tigger costume can only see forward.

There's a great book called Mouse Tales which is an unauthorized look at Disney behind the scenes. It's fascinating and funny. Skip the part about the business and administration, it's just depressing, but the stories told by the cast members are priceless. There may be some weirdos in some of the costumes but there are a lot of really nice, down to earth people who do that and the abuse they have to take from the little brats, er happy children who visit the park is sometimes brutal. I mean, what do you do when a kid keeps stomping on your foot or pulling your tail? Day and and day out it's gotta wear on you.

You know, after watching that video clips it appears that the kid did something because Tigger jumped a bit as if he had been startled. You can barely see anything from inside those huge costumes so if he was trying to hit the kid there is no way he would have seen the kid well enough to punch him. And of course the kid isn't going to admit he did anything wrong. It looks like he tugged on the zipper on the back of the suit or tried to lift the head off, and Tigger was just reaching around to make sure everything was secure. His arm was moving in an arc, not recoiled for a punch. It's obvious.

The sad thing is that the reporter kept talking about "the guy in the Tigger costume". What next, reports about how there is no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny?
