Set my clock one hour back this morning. Finally, boring same old winter is arrive.

Yeah - Melbourne had its daylight savings a few weeks back and the clock was set forward. Hehehe.

Sorry to disappoint - but the clocks go bak one hour next weekend on 11/01/09 at 2 AM EST.

Not all countries around the world are on the same DST schedule.

Not to mention the fact that clocks change at 2 AM no matter which time zone you live in. They don't change according to EST. 'Eastern' isn't the only time zone in the United States (or the world, for that matter).

I hate having to stay up until 2 a.m. to change the clocks.

:p

For those that don't want to stay up to change the time, here's a simple little trick to let you go to sleep. Just change the time before you go to bed. Then it will be already changed when the proper time comes around.

At least they've pushed the date of the switch for us till after the kiddies all go trick or treating on Halloween - always loved the fact that we made it even darker for them to go out the weekend before Halloween - don't even have a chance to get used to the change.

Good Ol' Ben Franklin - love him or hate him?
At least we get the extra hour of sleep next weekend!

geloge,
How is Granada? I was there for a day in '73 on a high school trip.
Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, Toledo.
I still remember the Generalife and Alhambra -- even in the dreariness of Febrero, it was a magnificent place. And to think that the Moors exited Spain the same year Columbus discovered the New World!

Surely Granada has changed a lot from 73, and not in a very good way, The town and the nearest villages has get bigger and they has occupied the agriculturist lands around the town.
But with the University it's a very interesting town, have some beautiful places, and it's a great place where to have some fun.

Arizona is one of the few sane places left. No Daylight savings bull. Being a conservative state, they don't change, ever.

It also has to do with where you are relative to time zone borders -- AZ may be situated where it doesn't benefit you that much, if at all.

IN used to be EST all year - East part of state and North had MI and OH time to contend with while Western had Chicagoland.

Ok I'm starting to confuse. This morning, my computer adjusted automatically to daylight saving time. But cellphone and timeanddate websites are not and they are still an hour ahead. I have synchronized my computer several time already and it still one hour behind. I don't know which one to believe now.

i'm confused now. what time is it?

^No.

I thought when I wrote Europe, it was pretty much implied I meant the countries in Europe. I guess it wasn't clear to some.

The bunch of other countries were those non European, and other than Mexico.

I understood that. The tone of my written ironic voice isn't as clear as it should be. That was what the smiley was intended to compensate for.

There was a windows patch when the US modified DST rules. Maybe you never got the update?
