Titanic good for a first date?

Well, it is the 100th anniversary of the disaster. It's his favorite movie.

But i wouldn't go there on a first date. Years ago, i went on a first date to the movie "Seven" which was about a mass murderer killing based on the 7 deadly sins.

She picked the movie, not me. But the movie left us both so horrified that there just wasn't a good way to pick up conversation. I think I dropped her off in silence. Anyway, our first date was our last. I still knew her as friends in a group. But I just never could think of her without associating it with the movie.

A movie like that may be okay for a later date - but not in the beginning. I agree with the others that would refrain from any movie on a first date. Having time for conversation is key to me. A movie just isn't conducive for that.

I agree with all the answers above saying it's a bad choice for a first date: you don't know each other and you're planning on getting to know each other by sitting on your asses for 3 hours in the dark, watching a screen?

AND, just imagine that you don't find the guy interesting at all! Then you're forced to sit and watch a movie for 3 hours with a guy on a date that you really just want to end
