That is the question!
So, I was at work today and there were two technicians updating some equipment. I met the main guy and he explained that he and his assistant were going to be around "bothering me". Later on, I noticed that they were doing something in the dark and I asked if they wanted the light on to help, but the guy said it was easier in the dark. The assistant looked at me like he couldn't believe his eyes. As I was walking away he nervously said "Thanks....".
Later, I was sitting in my office looking up stuff on the computer and the assistant guy suddenly walked in and stood there with a look on his face like he was so embarrassed and nervous. I sat there with a bemused smile on my face waiting for him to say something. He walked in a bit more pointing at a poster on the wall asking me nervously, "What movie is that poster for?" (My office is boring, so I put random posters up). I told him "It's for the movie 'The Day The Earth Stood Still', the remake". We talked a bit more about it and I asked if he wanted it but he said no and that he just "wondered what it was".
So he introduced himself and we were chatting a bit more about random stuff. He kept nervously looking at me and then away, but his smile kept getting bigger and his face redder. I never looked away from him and he was reminding me of how I used to be when I was in my teens, and I found it cute. It dawned on me that he had gone out of the way to think of a reason to come and talk to me.
He told me that they are coming back tomorrow but should be done by tomorrow. So in a way, what he was doing didn't make any sense, as we wouldn't be seeing each other ever again. Whenever tech's come out, we never get the same guys.
I got up to go and grab some paper work and said 'I have to go do some work stuff', but he followed me around like a puppy. His boss was looking for him, so he had to go back to work. I ran into him a couple more times after that and he still seemed pretty shy, but would get the same grin on his face.
Before they left, the main tech asked if I worked tomorrow, but I don't, so I had to say goodbye.
So now that I've set it up, is it going to far if I go to work tomorrow to pick up my book that I "forgot", in order to see him one last time? Well not just to see him, but I think I want to ask him if he'd like to hang out some time.
It's not going to far, right? If he says no, its not like I'll ever see him again. He seemed to be really into me, but of course I could have been reading it wrong.
