Anyway, we hadn't spoken for a month until I texted him to have a happy valentine's day. Two days later, he told me that he was deleting his FB and that he wanted to know how I was, what my email was, and when my birthday was. He said that he's already had a present in mind for me (one month to go!). I replied and blah blah, and asked him when his was. He didn't respond for a few days and later texted that he hadn't forgotten about my message, that I made him smile, and that we'd be in touch very soon. I texted back stating that I understood that he's probably busy and that I hope things are going well with him. That was a week and one day ago.

My friend said that I should take the initiative and text him again, asking when he was available to get lunch or whatever. I'm beginning to realize that, even if I can't have him as a bf, he'd be a great friend to have in my life, so it doesn't have to be a date. I think it's too early since he said that we'd be in contact soon. I assumed that he'd text back or call when he wasn't busy. What the hell should I do?

I would normally assume that he just didn't want to chat with me since he didn't respond, but his asking for my birthday and email just threw me for a loop. It made me think that he's actually interested in communicating with me, but is just too busy. Again, what do I do?

I would just wait. I know it's hard to wait, you want to hear from them, and they just don't. Men are really bad at relationships. It's possible to overdo the attentiveness and that could push them away. So when in doubt, it's better to do nothing. When you find yourself considering contacting him again, just do something else that is part of your life but not related to him. Have that ready when the impulse to contact him comes.

Deleting his FB, huh? Wants to stick in contact through email, huh? Texts irregularly? The message he's sending not matching the behavior he's displaying?


Sounds like he's got you pegged as a booty call prospect. He wants to run game. The reason he isn't texting you back is because he's texting someone else. When he runs out of someone else then you'll hear back from him.
