Keith has trained his sights on Barack Obama, attacking him in racially tinged language that startled even the notoriously reactionary radio jock Glenn Beck. During Keith's appearance on the July 30 broadcast of Beck's show, he remarked, "I think the black people would say he [Obama] don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person."

"What does that even mean?" the audibly shocked Beck replied.

"Well, I don't know what that means," Keith drawled, "but I think that that's what they would say. Even though the black society would pull for him I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason he is in [the general election] is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian."

Disgusting piece of trash. Where's Natalie Maines when you need the bitch?

Keep talking, Toby....and make sure to do a few photo ops with McCain...

What. An. Idiot.

Oh well, guess it's back to school for you, Obama...we'll make sure to send over a rep from the Toby Keith School of Actin' Black. Start stockpiling your fridge with watermelon...

:rotflmao:

And while you're at it, bulk up on collard greens, kool-aid, fried chicken, and some chitlins.

He's the typical redneck. He's only voicing what so many other people who have a problem with Obama's race are thinking. I'm glad to say I haven't bought any of his music.

What a nasty & sinful person this toby keith person is...What a shame we have to put up with people like him...I'm fed up with all these race comments about Obama...

Am I the only one who realizes that Obama isn't even black?? The man is half white for Christ's sakes! And I'm wondering why all this Toby Keith stuff hasn't been more widely reported. I only see it on Yahoo right now.

He is black.

....And white.

Alas, it doesn't matter. They see a brown face with a wide nose and big lips and they're surprised he's not still saying "YES, MASSAH! NO, MASSAH!"

Why is anyone listening to a country music singer on the subject of a presidential candidate's set of behavior? Is he some kind of authority on this subject?

Ignore him. He's one man with a racially-derived opinion that neither has a basis in reality nor any relevance to Mr. Obama's candidacy.

Rednecks feel threatened because Obama doesn't look like a lawn jockey and say "I's gon' be Prez-O-dint!" Seeing an educated, well-spoken and successful dark-skinned person throws a wrench into their well-oiled machine of willful and aggressive ignorance.

FUTK

Toby Keith is a piece of white trash! What a loser! What's sad is that my family and friends love him. GAG!

Heh. And the convenient fog of forgetfulness comes into play. Weren't virtually all of the black columnists attacking Obama for not being black at the beginning of the campaign? What Kieth is saying may not be what you want to hear, but it is something that he can back...

[Note: Not defending what he's saying, only pointing out that blacks have already said that he wasn't black...]

No, and if you have proof of it, I'd like you to post it.

The whole club lookin at herrrrr
She hit the flow
Next thing you know
Shawty got low low low low low low low low

It's not that there haven't been people who have said it, it's the fact he said virtually all black columnists. Fringe activists who are known for spewing bullshit =/= black society.

Toby Keith has no business trying to speak for blacks, especially when it comes across as him trying to speak for himself without having the balls to do it.

So this whole snide back and forth is not because there is indeed proof, but because he overextended his point?

...am i on a forum with adults, or with children?

Proof of what? Anyone can make any outrageous statement, and find someone else's to corroborate it. Saying that one or a few blacks feel a certain way, is definitely much different from saying "black society" or "virtually all black columnists".

You're being disingenuous.

Define disingenuous and give me a synonym for it. :)

*ahem*

Proof that Mister Toby's thoughts there - stupid as he is - have been stated by black leaders(and no doubt people in the community) before - vocally, mind you, as was the link provided proves(and Jesse is a repeat offender - didn't he say on live TV that he wanted to cut Obama's balls off? That may or may not be related, but i am throwing THAT out there).

Anyone can make an outrageous statement. When you do it speaking for a community, however, you get firestorms like this.

But that link and Jesse Jackson's statement, don't prove Keith's or RobinGoodFellows points....
