I went to the theater with a friend of mine for the 12:30 pm showing. Matinee pricing was in effect; so, we paid $ 1.50 each to get in. That was the last time that I saw the movie for that inexpensive price :)

That version misses the part that got a standing ovation at the premier: the Imperial Star Destroyer that just... kept... coming...!

 
^^Yeah. . .was (and still am) a scifi and Star Trek fan well before Star Wars. I went into the movie with the rediculous idea of, just to have some sort of size reference, comparing the first star ship I saw to the U.S.S. Enterprise. Everyone knows that it's approximately 1,000 feet in length; so, I figured that was a good reference. Well, Princess Lea's ship appeared; and, I said OK, that's not bad. And, then, this triangular shape appeared; and, as Kuli states, kept coming. . .and coming. . .and coming :badgrin: I don't think I picked my jaw up off the floor (YUCK) until the end of the movie :luv2:

^ TVO (Ontario's public broadcasting stations) had 2 separate documentaries from the BBC back to back about King George V and Queen Mary. I was surprised how much influence Mary had on Princess Elizabeth.
 
^ Over the Rainbow was almost removed from the movie. The producers felt that it slowed the pace too much.
