i was today years old when i learned george jefferson was rainbow gang

side rant: Americans have this compulsive need to romanticize EVERYTHING. one woman said "no one knew cuz he lived his life privately and gracefully." um, maybe, then again the idea of having to lie about and hide who you are 24/7 for fear of persecution (or, worse, grandma's disapproval) seems very burdensome, lonely and stressful.

i think of times in my life where i told just small lies and they're overwhleming, you have to remember them, sometimes create follow-up lies and keep up with this tangled mess of untruths. how do people not tell the truth excessively and not end up in an asylum?

*some of you, like me, were kids when his show was still in syndication. and some of you were probably stage-hands and were already collecting pension by then

now I have gaydar 5.0, i can clock em from a mile away blindfolded facing the opposite direction but he didn't ping. then again them mid 1900s downlows were a whole different type of downlow, you REALLY had to be down LOW. downlow barely even exists any more, these same dudes who deny being gay, you go to their social media and they've got like 600 drag queen and trans friends. and the ubiquitous gay "cousin" they spend exorbitant amounts of time with.

Wait what, deodorant before bed? Odd - it reminds me of the dental advice that I'd read where after brushing your teeth, you aren't supposed to rinse out your mouth for a half hour.
