I think it might just easily be applied to younger everythings - a general lack of appreciation (as opposed to misunderstanding) of what has come before - and not just us homos and bi-mos.

That's certainly how I'm reading it. I don't get any sense that they misunderstand "pride". Only that the OP misunderstands "fun", and perhaps everything else about them.

They're "baby gays" because they're not old and tired.
They're "vapid" because they choose to enjoy themselves.
They're "entitled" because they're awesome.
And they're "cliquey" because you're not invited.
Deal with it, pink boy.

One definite advantage of age - stoniness becomes second nature and shade comes easy. :)

The younger generation are definitely different from when I was growing up (I'm 28), but I don't know if they're disrespectful.

One of the rare occasions I use the thread rating function.

the only difference with the younger generation in general whether they're gay, straight, or whatever is how incredibly superficial and vain they are. i would also say that some of them don't seem to want to act their age too. if you're 20 years old, act like you're 20. it's annoying hearing about 20 year olds acting like they're 40 talking about back in the day when they weren't even born yet let alone remember what life was like when they were young.

other than that, i really don't see much of what you're talking about.

I'll be honest. I wish I had been as intelligent, quick-witted, fun, and "in tune" as the young people here. Hell, I wish I were any of those now.

Wit is a personality trait that is learned from alluding to topical things. Just read about in the confessional topic that I made about 'rosebud'. I could very easily make a chain reaction of allusions that will completely debase my original discussion point.

Some of you guys don't get out much. A lot of these so called "baby gays" are very intelligent and in tune with what is happening around them concerning their right to be who they are. A few of these baby gays are my best friends and we can long thoughtful conversations and they are very interested in what it was like to be a gay man in the eighties.
Don't put people in a box and label it.

Love seeing older people trying to lecture younger people. I find it ironic really.

I don't love seeing older people trying to lecture younger people. I do find it ironic, and I think they should shut up.
