On Topic Discussion Today's baby gays: increasingly vapid, entitled and cliquey because they misunderstand the concept of pride?

^ All are brilliant, Ashy.

Although, when I was younger and cited these back to an elder....they asked me what had happened to those civilizations.

Every generation complains about the younger generation. The young generation now will complain about the generation that comes after them too, and so on.

At first, I thought this was about babies who were raised by gays. It all kind of made sense, in a way, and then I started reading.

Still makes sense, just in a different light!

I don't love seeing older people trying to lecture younger people. I do find it ironic, and I think they should shut up.

Yes us old people take the whip and make you listen to us.

Guess what you're not worth the effort but a lot young lgbt people are and if we can have an active and positive influence in their lives then I will do it.

Interesting observations.

In my day (the early aughts), baby gay pride = there's nothing wrong with what are, accept us and treat us as equals.

Today's baby gay pride =[increasingly?]= I'm special, treat me accordingly

My general experience is that younger gay guys are very "light" but that could be because they never faced a quarter of the struggle that older gays had to face. Then again, I always found some older gays to be a little dark and bitter; because of the struggles they had to endure. There's definitely a separation there. I wouldn't consider either behaviour to be wrong or negative.

You know what's REALLY annoying? Reading "Back in my day (the early aughts)." I'm sure the music was much better back then, too. :)

the older gays have every right to feel that way especially when they had to deal with most of the shit where us young folks have it way more easier than they did during their time.

The snobbery is silly is all I'm saying.

can I call you a tool because I will

we fought for our rights so the next generation can enjoy them.

now go back to your bisexual closet and complain about something else.

^ so what is the issue

do you hate young gay men who had the balls to come out of the closet instead of hiding behind that bisexual wall.

get out and meet them they are amazing.

Now gentlemen.

You know that I love and admire both of you.

Please don't make me have to separate the two of you.

^ Pete, I think I agree with you. I'm impatient with men who hide behind the bisexual wall.

^so why this thread against baby gays?

and you're still a tool to me.

How many times as gay men have we had to sit through a lecture by BISEXUAL men ...schooling us on how to be gay, whats wrong with gays, and a whole other laundry list of negatives about gays....Oh, but they are totally qualified. Cuz they are bisexual.

I've observed more homophobia from many (not all) bisexual men than I have from any straight man, straight women, gay man, or gay women. Or bisexual women, for that matter.

I have my own theories why bisexual men feel entitled to step on a podium and consistently school gay people....but I'll refrain.

I don't think I'm vapid, entitled or cliquey. At the moment I have zero gay/bisexual friends (well, out ones, I'm sure there are a few in the woodpile). So...guess I can't really speak on behalf of young twenty-somethings.

Stick around - we haven't had a good bi-burning yet this winter, and it's been many months since the last proper bi-bashing in here from the (gold-star) gays.

We're all as bad as each other, and also as bad as everyone out there. You'll see. ;)
