No seriously though, I have always wanted a nice four poster with draped fabric - I've always liked green for a bedroom as well. Really fresh.

As to the canopy... not sure if I should try and have one custom made... could get very pricey... with four bisected squares for tying back, attached to the top square, or just go with a few smaller panels that can be draped over the top and stuff.

I'll get something figured out.

Eldest is pretty good with interior design, she might be able to advise.

I had to look up what Hunter Green was, but yes that's exactly the colour, almost elvenish - if you get it in a material that isn't too heavy - we don't want to be smothered... did I say we?

Sorry I really felt like flirting then (if you could call that abysmal attempt a flirt)

But for the canopy I would go for a seperate piece of material altogether, just drape it over the frame and have your actual drapes seperate....

Fabric, when done right, can be very masculine.

Don't fear fabric.

I LOVE four posters, and it's usually the decoration on the posts, the bedding, or the draping fabric used that deems it masculine or feminine or both.

A friend of mine built his own quite similar bed.

He added eyebolts every six inches on all four posts.



It is an interesting bed.
