Too many effeminate images of black gay men on television

So has this thread been resolved?

Can the preachers mark this thread up as another victory?

Have all the naysayers been beaten into submission?

If I'm 100% hounest, this is a remark i had sometimes aswell...
"there are too many fem gays on TV", ...
But then again, if yo try being really objective... I think their might be +/- the same amount of "butch gays" on TV.

Besides, how sad would it actually be, if even gay people themselves wanted a ban on "fem guys"...
I dunno, if that's the case, you can't even blame some straight people for wanting the same...

A healthy mix is a healthy representation of the world out there, right?

I always think it's a good thing that ROLYO85 points some things out too ;)
He'll atleast make you think :)

Aw booboo,...?

you have exhausted the congregation. They have left the building

Sarcasm works so much better when it makes actual sense...

So does your face!

But seriously.....you don't see the irony in someone reviving a dead thread then accusing others of wearing people out with it?

Says the man who revived a thread that died nearly a month ago.

It is always bizarre that in order to make some kind of pissy point, Grimshaw goes scouting in the graveyard and exhumes threads.

I have to say though Grim....you really outdid yourself this time. This one makes you look utterly desperate and ridiculous.

I do see, though, that our other resident femme-o-phobe OP is still around after all.

^ I thought Keith the policeman made an excellent "image of a black gay man on television" so much so, I wondered why he would choose to marry the tortured David Fisher. But, as Kaihah says (post # 166), his role was expanded and contracted to fit into a plot device.

Came here expecting a logical discussion on something I have some insight into, left here wondering why everyone allows this Rolyo chop to piss all over everyone's opinions ranging from telling black people who actually have a valid opinion they are wrong through to correcting people's spelling just to further his own little dramatic tirade of self importance and utter prejudices.

Mike

^ Nice of you to drop by.

We'll look forward to more of your posts.

Trust my word, these "effeminate black guys" have a huge selection of men to choose from. I know from personal experience. We're so hated yet so popular ;)

I know, right? Makes no sense!

I find it very interesting that gay images are all stereotypes from Hollywood. Hollywood has a unique problem. They purport to be pro-gay yet have well documented and very much ingrained policies which overtly discriminate against gays, men in particular but the acceptance of lesbians is another thread. I'd might like to remind people of a few guys...Rock Hudson, Tab Hunter, Anthony Perkins, George Maharis, Montgomery Clift, Richard Chamberlain, and Raymond Burr for just a few that had to keep their lives secret in ord to get work. The few that didn't try and hide their gayness were penalized.

Even films that are lauded as gay friendly are not so much. Brokeback Mountain is the one that comes to mind. Is this gay friendly? A little precis would be two guys are in love, both deny being gay to themselves and each other, both marry women, both father children, both lie to their wives, one dies, or is killed(?) and one becomes a hermit.

Well I don't know about you but I felt so alive as a gay man after viewing this cinematic revelation. Really?

Then there are the stereotypical films like, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. The only thing I got out of that was people will like you if you are gay but only if you do drag and are incredibly flamboyant.

We are always on the outs guys. Hollywood either mocks and ridicules us or depicts us as mentally disordered.
