I stopped looking at animal sites because there's too many cats and I'm still a little raw since my boy died.

I deleted a huge amount of bookmarks one day after I had been waiting in line for something, looking over the shoulder of the girl in front of me as she scrolled through Instagram. Video after video, everything from wedding ceremonies to heavy metal performances: swipe swipe swipe. It wasn't leisurely, it was compulsive, and I could sense this desperate dissatisfaction emanating from her. I thought, What a dreadful, dreary way to spend your youth.

I got home and jumped online and found myself doing the same thing. Since then, I've tried to cut down on the junk I look at.

Last night I was on the computer for hours, managing and mixing my music collection, going through my photos, and editing writing. Never clicked on a browser. It always feels healthier and more fulfilling and productive than looking at cat and dick pics and left wing echo chamber tumblrs.

Amazon - Mostly to read reviews/stats and see better pics of items I want or need.

Nifty.org - Always reading, Wazowski. Always reading.

Camera Decision - I am getting into cameras. I just bought a used Panasonic FZ300 and I am wanting a Canon R3, so like with Nifty I am always reading something camera related.



A sixth would be Facebook for the same reasons as IMDB and YouTube. One of those sites are usually always open on my laptop if I am awake.
