Top Chef: Las Vegas

The last two seasons have not been very good, in my opinion. I'm actually kinda pissed that Ash and Mattin were eliminated. The "sibling rivalry"thing is just pointless and beyond chliched, in my opinion. Granted, I knew from the promos for the season that they were really gonna play that aspect up, but come on. It's pretty tired if you ask me. I don't really think they're all that cute, either. Maybe I'm insane, or something. The only two people worth rooting for in my opinion are Kevin and Jennifer. They may not have tons of personality, but they're at least good. Just my two cents. :)

Right off the bat, I'm not caring for the new contestants as much as last season. But for first impressions, I think the brothers are cute (but might be douchey). The openly gay guy, Ash, and the French guy are cute too. And I like the Indian girl w/ the short hair. It's too early to remember their names.

What I think is weird so far is their house. Past seasons, they were living in hip penthouses downtown. This season, they live in a house in the suburbs, and it's not even a nice looking house. I figured Bravo would have sprung for a few suites in one of LV's many hotels, but I guess the recession has affected TC.:confused:

Those brothers seem so "robotic"...It's as if their mothers forced them to cook when they were boys and beat them with spatulas while they cooked..Now they're just "emotionless"...


I don't know..They are Cute but strange acting...And they look so much alike I forget who is who...I'm not rooting for any cook. I like this season but no Chef in particular has won me over..


Now that Chef-Judge with the shaved head is one Sexy Fucker..
 
I have actually worked with one of the brothers from the show. He is quite the character in person.
 
I think the Volt bros, Jen and Kevin are pretty clearly the top four, and should go far unless they screw up pretty badly.

Really? I find them quite distinct; Bryan has this deep voice and would do well in radio, while Michael is more of a bad boy.

If you feel you can share your experience, Pokaman, I would love to hear it.

I would agree at the beginning of the season. Both brothers seemed void of personality, but at this point, I agree with Zinger -- I think they are pretty distinct (both physically and in demeanor). Bryan is more reserved (and clean-shaven and cuter), and Michael is more of a dick (and tatted-up and has a bigger nose).:badgrin:

They clearly get on each other's nerves. But I'm rooting for Bryan.

Thank goodness for the blowjob jokes. This season has been dull. If they want people to keep watching season after season Bravo needs to step it up another notch.

How about some shirtless shots of the V brothers. :D
 
I still need to watch last weeks episode..So far if I had to pick someone I guess I'll go with the Atlanta-Country guy that turns "Meat" into "Gold"..I forget the dudes name...But he knows his 'meat'...


This is the 1st season of the show that I've watched regularly...They need a "Bitch" or a "Bastard" to liven things up...
 
I thought there preview with Carla was Fabio's reunion dinner which was separate from the actual show.

I'm pretty sure it's a standalone special episode that has nothing to do w/ the current season.

From the preview, I know Fabio, Carla, Casey, and Marcel will be there, but don't know who else.
 
^Yea that's what I was saying....But do love the episodes when the old chefs come back. But seeing them all made me smile. It also made me realize how little personality these people have. I'm still hooked on the show but there is something missing.
 
Well, Michael Volt. has finally worn out his welcome with me. I couldn't believe him in the preview: "Kevin's food is what I cook on my day off." I think Kevin has won just has much as he has, if not more. Blah.

Robin left (finally), but it seemed like Eli's dish was worse. "Popcorn dust" just sounds so unappealing. Isn't that what's swept off the floor of movie theaters?

Also, it was weird and hilarious when Toby called Michael's food "effeminate." I wonder what on earth he possibly could have meant. And Nigella: "Panna cotta should quiver like a 16th century courtesan's inner thigh." HA!
 
You know I was watching last night episode wondering who in the hell the fan favorite was gonna be. None of them have an amazing/funny personality. I found myself wondering do I even care who wins this time.

Kevin seems nice enough, his food looks good

Mike V. has definitely been getting on my nerves as of late, but if he got those teeth fix and an attitude check, I'd still hit it

Bryan V. is just plain white bread, its good but nothing really exciting

Jennifer I actually kinda like because she seems to have lost her damn mind

Eli hmm, reminds me of the fat kid that thought he was funny but really got on everybody nerves because he felt the need to compensate

mmh I'm gonna root for Jennifer/Kevin/Bryan in that order...#-o

I miss my Fabio/Stephan duo, I'm not usually attracted to guys that much older than me but they were adorable together and I wanna be in the middle.

I was just wondering last night...I can't remember a challenge in Top Chef history where all of the chefs made a great dish, meaning there is always someone on the bottom. But wouldn't you think that there be a least one challenge where everyone did really well, and the judges couldn't send anyone home.

Yea I believe that even if they all did a good job the judges would always find something wrong with it: too boring, too safe, too much blah blah blah

Ever time I hear Chef Tom say that something is boring or safe I think of him in that diet coke commercial talking about how he likes simplicity haha if I was a chef on there I would bring it up every chance I got lol

And I forgot to mention, I loved the way Nigella explained the how panna cotta should move. Everytime she speaks its like Sex. I use to think her cooking show was softcore porn the way she would describe and eat things *|*....
