Has someone who has exclusively been a top ever gotten HIV? Seems the risk would be minimal and I have a friend who is a top and always fucks bareback and he is HIV- still. What do you guys think? Is there a top out there who has never bottomed that has HIV?

it is a risk. what exact amount of risk doesn't really matter to me.

It's easier and safer to use condoms.

How about looking at it a different way... if only bottoms can get infected then who is infecting the bottoms?

there are exclusive tops that are positive.

What passes for knowledge can kill you. Condoms are a minimun bit of security.

There HAVE been cases of people being infected with HIV from a single topping encounter; When you have anal sex, you create micro tears and broken blood vessels in his anal/rectal tissue that can expose you to his blood.

It's minute, but there IS a chance that you can be infected. Less risk does NOT equal no risk. . .and it certainly isn't better.

And furthermore: You can still contract hepatitis, HIV and other STDs from unprotected topping.

My thoughts are that the tops with HIV are not 100% tops. I am betting they have gotten fucked before.

I am betting there is no way to prove that. You are kind of looking at this the wrong way, I think.

Safe sex is a practice to help you stay healthy. there are no exclusions like the one you are looking for. Sex without a condom is risky behavior for both the passive and active participants.

what about straight men? this is not a gay disease we are talking about. How do straight women get HIV if guys aren't giving it to them? how do straight men that have never had anal sex get the disease to pass on to women?

it can't be that you only get aids from being passive anally. You may want to think about whether or not you are rationalizing behavior that may hurt you. We may not know each other, but I am telling you that you are more valuable than a condom.;)

Excellent points about straight guys BostonPirate. I can rationalize that straight guys get HIV from IV drug use, etc. But I see your points.

I just don't want to see someone make a mistake they will spend the rest of their life paying for...|

Literally; HAART therapy costs about $4,000 a month, and you need to take it every day or you'll die. And you can never safely have unprotected sex with anyone again; even if they have it, too then you'll create a mutant strain of it that will be even deadlier and hard to treat.

So just put on a damn condom, or NOT engage in buttsecks if you hate them that much.

It is also easier and safer to be in a monogamous relationship...Orr find a close, trusted, tested, friend with benefits.

If you don't have a relationship, you don't have to live up to some virginal ideal, but be smart.

There are no points to be made here. Any opening in the body makes one vulnerable to HIV when bodily fluids are exchanged. Even kissing is possible (although chances very very minimal).

A penis can take in HIV just as easily as it gives it out. One cannot rationalize a disease and try to use common sense to explain loop-holes. You have sex without a condom, then you open the door wide for all different types of sexually transmitted diseases and infections.

Talking to a doctor or nurse next time you get tested or just calling to ask will tell you what you want to know for sure.

More by luck than good judgement! It only takes one time. Honestly why put yourself at even a slight risk, just wear a condom!

Also guys that are uncut may be at slightly higher risk as the underside of the foreskin is a mucus membrane. Anyway doesn't matter if you're cut or uncut, just cover it up.

Even if there's only a 1% chance that you can get it, you're still putting yourself at risk.

As you continue to have sex with HIV+ people, the probability of contracting the virus approaches 1.

yes, i have heard accounts from people who were strict tops that got it.

seriously, this is not being entertained....

if tops do not get HIV then how does a bottom get it????? It takes a dick in the ass to pass HIV, one way or the other. A top has to get it in order for a bottom to get it.

please tell me that you guys are kidding with this. this is rocket science, its fucking.
